Position: Head of Business Development, Cell and Gene Therapy FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Remote Salary: $170,000-$200,000 Pharmaron is thrilled to invite you to join us as Head of Business Development- Cell and Gene for the US! Job Overview: The Head of Business Development - Cell & Gene Therapy is a leadership role responsible for driving long-term strategic growth, driving sales, partnerships, client acquisition and shaping the future direction of the company's business development efforts. This position involves building strong partnerships with biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, leveraging the CRO's expertise in cell and gene therapy services, and contributing to the organization's market position as a leader in innovative research and development. Responsibilities: * Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a long-term strategic vision for regional business development, aligning with the company's overall corporate strategy. Contribute to a long-term global business development strategy with good understanding of global business from different regions. * Execution of Sales Strategies: Identify revenue growth opportunities and work with internal stakeholders to determine and drive the sales, revenue growth, potential of opportunities, and marketing efficiency to achieve business outcomes. Qualify and generate new sales leads and opportunities within existing clients, managing opportunities from point of inquiry to closing of sale. * Executive Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executives at key client organizations. Own building, growing, and maintenance of client portfolios to drive high impact and long-lasting relationships. Understand client's sourcing need and setting sales strategies for specific service areas and clients in collaboration with internal stakeholders based on research and understanding of the client. Ensure positive client experiences * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., BD teams from different regions, R&D, operations, finance) to ensure seamless execution of business development initiatives. * Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performance team of business development professionals. Serve as the "go-to" expert on services and competitive landscape within the BD team. Identify and lead the initiatives that will benefit global business development teams. * Financial Performance: Drive significant revenue growth and profitability. * Market Analysis and Business Analytics: Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends and opportunities. Creation of interpretable insights (e.g., maintaining pipelines, account-specific) from deep dives and sales/revenue data analysis to guide data-driven business development strategy and business projections. * What We're Looking For: * Advanced degree in a life science, biotechnology, or a related field * MBA or equivalent experience in business management is a plus. * 10+ years of experience in business development within the CRO/CDMO industry * 10+ years industry experiences with deep knowledge and proven track record in cell and gene therapy, with a deep understanding of the industry landscape and regulatory environment. * Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and achieving significant results * Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills with the ability to execute operational plans effectively. * Excellent communication and presentation skills at the executive level * Deep understanding of the global life science industry * Ability to travel extensively * Why Pharmaron?
