Job Overview Ecodunia is a mission-driven company that proudly handcrafts Fair Trade, eco- conscious bags, jewelry, and accessories in Kenya. Every item we sell directly supports dignified work, sustainable materials, and local artisanship. We're looking for an energetic, reliable Festival Sales & Set-Up Team Member to join us at events across the Chicagoland area. You'll help bring our beautiful products to life at summer street fairs, art festivals, and winter holiday markets -- and drive strong sales through great customer service and storytelling! In this role, you will be representing our brand and values, providing exceptional customer service and driving sales through effective communication and product knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping customers find the right products while creating a welcoming shopping environment. What You'll Do: * Set up and tear down tents, tables, signage, and product displays at (primarily) outdoor events * Load and unload inventory and supplies (must be able to lift 50 lbs) * Greet customers, engage them warmly, and confidently close sales * Process sales through a mobile POS system (Shopify) * Maintain a clean, organized, visually appealing booth * Keep an accurate cash and inventory log at each event * Represent Ecodunia's mission of eco-conscious, fair-trade craftsmanship with pride What We're Looking For: * Reliable, honest, organized, and committed -- you show up and follow through * Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic -- you enjoy selling and talking to customers * Comfortable with mobile devices for processing sales (training provided) * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. * Physically able to lift and carry tents, bins, and equipment * Flexibility to work long shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed. * Must have a valid driver's license (own car a plus) * Able to work outdoors in all conditions (rain or shine) * Appreciation for eco-conscious, fair-trade goods is a big plus * Previous experience in retail, events, farmers markets, or festival sales is a bonus, but not required Schedule & Pay: * Pay: $18.00-$20.75/hr depending on experience + bonuses for exceptional sales performance * Summer season: Primarily Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays * Winter/Holiday markets: Expanded availability Tuesday-Sunday * Typical shift: 8-10 hours, sometimes shorter or longer depending on the event * Paid training Important Details: * This is an independent contractor role * You will commit to specific events in advance. (Once confirmed, you are expected to attend.) * You'll have the flexibility to accept only the events that fit your schedule.
