Job Description:Sales Associate BASIC INFORMATION Employment Status: Part to Full Time Hourly/Salary: Hourly DUTIES * Greeting customers and working with them to determine their needs and then recommend the right product to solve the customer's problem. * Directing customers to merchandise within the store. * Cross-selling products to increase purchase amounts and introducing promotions and opportunities to customers. * Receives payments from customers, operate cash register and credit card machine and returns appropriate change as needed. * Assist customers in carrying purchased products to their cars * Cleans and maintains animal enclosures and preforms various animal care including feeding, cleaning, and socializing * Builds and maintains an understanding of the stores products and price information to assist with customer purchases. * Processes deliveries by checking in product then stocking it on the appropriate shelves and backstock areas. * Prepares product displays as requested. * Maintaining a clean and orderly appearance throughout the store. * Completing all tasks on daily to do list. * Complete additional assignments assigned by shift manager. * Applicants should be available to work weekends and not have conflicts with the working hours of 9:45am through 6pm. KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Required Skills: o Maintain a positive attitude and focus on customer satisfaction in a fast- paced environment. o Fluent in English with the ability to read, write and perform basic math. o The ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and repeatedly lift 50lbs. o The ability to consistently use hands, fingers, vision, and hearing. o Able to work in proximity and provide care for cats, dogs, reptiles, small animals, fish, and insects. * Preferred Skills: o Previous experience with retail sales & cash registers. o Experience with domestic pet care. o Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and browser functions.
