JOB TITLE: Area Director of Revenue Management REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Revenue Management SUPERVISES DIRECTLY: All Area Revenue Analysts and Revenue Optimization & Inventory Managers for Assigned Hotels Purpose for the Position : To assume full responsibility of implementing the revenue strategy in conjunction with Revenue Optimization Consultants for multi-units in assigned region. The position is responsible for the tactical daily, weekly, monthly and annual revenue management practice of rate promotion and inventory controls and distribution throughout all distribution channels Essential Responsibilities: To ensure the consistent improvement of annual competitive RevPAR penetration of several hotels with multiple brands in various sub-markets * To ensure the consistent improvement of annual competitive RevPAR penetration of several hotels with multiple brands in various submarkets * Maximizes revenue of assigned hotels through a thorough knowledge of the PMS/RMS/CRS systems and understanding of all booking channels. Manages inventory allocation and price parameters positioned to achieve overall revenue goals * Configuration of RMS and rate inventory control systems; system recommendation and forecast validation and daily report entry and analysis to produce and implement changes in the system * Support Senior Director in the execution of hotels' RM strategy * Work with brand managers to effectively implement strategy and analyze key brand and property specific marketing reports to make successful decisions to increase revenue * Maintain the hotels pricing, distribution strategy and rate parity within the hotels' PMS/RMS/CRS and extranets * Produce routine financial forecasts according to need for property-level teams and Ownership * Implement pricing and yield decisions across all market segments * Maintain the hotels' RMS to ensure it is maximizing revenue potential on all compression dates into the future and layer in sufficient competitive base over predetermined need periods * Assist the SDoRM during the annual RFP season in account analysis and pricing decisions * Assist the SDoRM during the annual business plan process * Manage, discipline and support Area Revenue Analyst activity * Manage the group quoting process using both manual ROI analysis and RMS decision support * Ensure Area Revenue Analyst is properly communicating to relative hotel teams' departmental leaders relative to RM * Maintain a concise house and room type oversell/sell-through strategy for all future dates * Manage the rate loading process for all rate plans within all systems, and continuously test book for accuracy * Facilitate and/or attend hotels' revenue meetings * Produce routine reports for the SDoRM and executive committee members for analysis To do this kind of work, you must be able to: * Read and interpret business records and statistical reports * Use mathematical skills to interpret financial information and prepare budgets * Analyze and interpret established policies * Proficient in Microsoft Office * Understand government regulations covering business operation * Make business decisions based on various reports and historical data * See differences in widths and lengths of lines such as those on graphs * Deal with the general public, customers, employees, union and government officials with tact and courtesy * Plan and organize the work of others * Change activity frequently and cope with interruptions * Speak and write clearly * Accept full responsibility for managing an activity * Complete all assigned tasks, reports, projects etc. in a professional manner and on an on-time basis * Be available for work evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed, to ensure hotels' success * Physical Demands : Lifting 20 lbs. Maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree, reaching, handling, feeling, talking, hearing * Environmental Conditions : Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Write business letters, summaries and reports using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction and style. Participate in discussions and debates.
