Overview Stannah, a global leader in stairlifts and home lift solutions, is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth in our North American market. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and lead a high-performing sales team while making a meaningful impact on customers' lives. Stannah is a global expert in mobility solutions. Our products enable people to move in and around their residential homes. The Stannah Stairlift is our most well-known product, which we manufacture and distribute all around the world. At Stannah, we have been empowering people to live their lives to the fullest for over 150 years. The Company is privately owned and into their fifth generation who play a hands-on role in running the business. Stannah products move people and goods in and around residential homes and buildings. They make life easier for people by improving access for greater convenience and freedom. This Hybrid role will be based in the Franklin office, Massachusetts, and will require travel 30% of the time within North America and occasionally to our UK headquarters. The Director of Sales will manage the North America Field Sales and Inside Sales function to help maximize and leverage potential sales opportunity within North America. Responsible for the profitable achievement of sales targets by improving and maximizing sales conversion ratios, maximizing Average Sales Price (ASP), raising skill levels, and developing a world class sales team befitting the Stannah brand. The Director of Sales will manage the Inside Sales team to ensure sales leads and appointments are passed to the sales consultants. This includes managing the daily operations of the contact center, including motivating the team and ensuring they receive the support, coaching and training required to achieve key departmental objectives and KPI's. Key Deliverables * Lead, develop and motivate the team of field sales consultants and Inside Sales (contact center) via regular contact, team meetings, coaching and frequent field visits to ensure they provide excellent customer service in line with Company values. * Work closely with the marketing team to ensure the end to end customer journey is seamless. * To gain a thorough understanding of Stannah domestic solutions (Stairlifts and Home lifts) and competitor products, to be able to personally sell and to train your team to be competitive in a price sensitive environment. * To gain the skills to train and develop others in accurately and effectively assessing client needs, surveying our customers' homes and creating compelling propositions. To advocate and promote the best possible advice based on the Company's Survey Manual. * Manage team and individual performance using measures such as ASP (Average Selling Price), performance v. target, discount from list. * Analyze sales reports to highlight varying levels of performance and identify areas of opportunity. * Recognize training needs and development areas and address these through coaching and training as required. * Represent the North American sales team in events such as conferences or training. * To raise operational effectiveness by reducing losses, improving product knowledge, and lowering process errors. * Achieve financial targets and objectives. * Ensure staff resources are managed effectively to achieve targets. * Manage team in line with company policies so that one-to-ones, team meetings, training, career development, call monitoring and coaching, and performance/attendance management are conducted effectively. * Handle escalated calls ensuring satisfactory resolution and dealing with difficult and distressed customers. * Identify and create new processes and procedures, promoting a continuous improvement in culture. * Ensure that all Health and Safety requirements are in place and adhered to, including a minimum of two audits per year. * To maintain the highest standards of professionalism, honest, trust, integrity and safety in keeping with the Company's guidelines. * Maintain confidentiality, security of information. * Provide cover and support for other team managers as required. Skills and Abilities * Proven track record in direct sales. * Proven track record of management of a sales team and constantly engaging them. * Development and delivery of successful sales process and training plans. * Excellent numerical, analytical and literacy skills. * A hardworking, focused mindset. * Excellent leadership qualities with a passion for helping others. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships. * Ability to develop a deep knowledge of Stannah business ventures and services, competitors, relationships with customers, clients and suppliers and general market evolution. * Ability to personally use the IT hardware, system, and software relevant to the role i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Adobe Acrobat (pdf) etc. Education and Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in marketing or business administration * Significant years in sales management within a corporate setting * Proven track record of success in the in-home sales cycle from plan to close * Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills * Superb leadership ability * Ability to travel at least 30% of the time Join us as we continue to grow our presence in the market while providing exceptional solutions to our clients!
