Position Overview: Job Title: Insurance Account Executive - Small Business Unit (SBU) Location: Hybrid - Worcester, MA Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch) Compensation: $35,000 salary for 6-month initial period Career Path: Opportunity for full-time conversion based on performance Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Email and phone communication; no in-person strategy meetings required) About IMA: IMA is one of New England's largest independent insurance agencies. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated, customer service-minded Account Executive to support our Small Business Unit (SBU). In this role, you'll be responsible for the retention and day-to-day service of an assigned book of Commercial Lines accounts. You'll act as a trusted resource, ensuring clients' coverage needs are met, renewals are smooth, and service is timely and professional. This is a client-facing role--but all communication will be handled via email and phone , with no in-person strategy meetings required. This position is ideal for someone passionate about small business insurance, committed to client satisfaction, and looking to grow within a supportive, established team. What You 'll Do: * Manage the day-to-day needs of an assigned book of commercial accounts, including policy changes, invoicing, and coverage reviews * Maintain appropriate coverage for clients by identifying gaps and recommending solutions * Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries via phone and email * Understand client operations and offer coverage strategies that evolve with their needs * Facilitate the renewal process: gather data, secure renewals, negotiate with underwriters, and present terms in advance * Conduct remarketing when needed, including rating online or completing carrier applications * Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, and IMA team members * Contribute to agency growth through account rounding, cross-selling, and upselling within the existing book of business * Follow established workflows and ensure all records are accurate and updated What You Bring: * 3+ years of commercial lines insurance experience (agency/broker experience preferred) * Active Property & Casualty License required * Familiarity with BOP, GL, WC, E&O, Cyber, and other commercial coverages * Strong attention to detail and organization skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment * Proficiency with agency management systems (e.g., EPIC, AMS360) and Microsoft Office Why Join IMA? * Salary: $35K for the initial 6-month period (salaried position) * Benefits: (TBD - details available upon conversion to full-time) * Work-Life Balance: Company holidays + 7 days of PTO * Career Growth: Potential to convert to a full-time, long-term role * Performance Rewards: Commissions, upsell incentives, and education bonuses * Culture: Join a well-established team with a strong reputation and a client-first approach Ready to bring your insurance expertise to a firm with history, heart, and opportunity?
