Full description of the position

Job Summary: The duties of this position revolve primarily around the checkout counter and focus on greeting customers, assisting them with and processing their purchases. When not actively engaged with customers, additional duties include straightening shelves, pulling orders for online orders, packing & shipping those orders, general cleaning, clerical work, and assembling bags & boards for comic books. Additional duties may include checking in new merchandise as needed and assisting with social media posts & videos (depending on skillset). Experience and/or knowledge of comics and collectibles is greatly preferred as are basic computer skills while experience in marketing/social networking are also beneficial. What's most essential though is someone who is self-motivated, has an attention to detail, can interact with customers in a friendly, helpful manner, and who is able to handle multiple tasks on schedule while working to help the store grow and increase efficiency. We do not hire often as our staff tend to stay with us for a long time and we typically receive a large number of applicants when we do have an opening so we are very selective. Store hours range from 10 AM - 8 PM, varying slightly depending on the day of the week except for major holidays. Shifts will vary so some flexibility is a must as is the ability to work weekends. Since this is a part-time position though, we are happy to work around your schedule as long as it is not too restrictive or involves last minute changes. Hours total approximately 15-25 hours per week over 4-5 days with room for growth in both hours and pay for staff members who demonstrate their dependability, work ethic, and provide excellent customer service.
