Full description of the position

Job Title: Sales Manager Location: Hampton Inn & Suites/Residence Inn Des Moines, IA Reports To: Director of Sales & General Manager Position Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and service-driven Sales Manager to support the hotel's sales efforts, with a focus on reactive sales, group coordination, and administrative tasks. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth sales process from inquiry to billing, while also supporting the Director of Sales and General Manager in achieving revenue goals and delivering an exceptional client experience. Key Responsibilities: * Handle reactive sales inquiries by responding to leads, preparing proposals, conducting follow-ups, and securing business for group and transient segments. * Assist in inputting group room blocks , reservations, and rooming lists into the property management or brand system accurately and on time. * Coordinate and communicate group details with operations teams to ensure flawless execution. * Work closely with the Director of Sales on daily tasks such as pipeline tracking, account management, and client communication. * Prepare and maintain billing details , track deposits, and assist with credit applications and post-event billing resolution. * Respond promptly to emails, phone calls, and walk-in inquiries with a professional and courteous attitude. * Support the sales team with reporting, data entry, collateral preparation, and CRM updates. * Assist in planning and executing on-property client events, site tours, and sales blitzes. * Maintain brand standards in all sales documents, proposals, and guest interactions. Qualifications: * 1-3 years of hotel or hospitality experience in sales, front office, or coordination roles. * Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills. * Strong attention to detail and follow-through. * Proficiency in hotel systems such as Opera, OnQ, CI/TY, or similar. * Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
