District Sales Manager Summary We're seeking a District Sales Manager -- a dynamic, visionary leader responsible for overseeing multi-unit retail operations sales team while driving wholesale and dispensary account sales across multiple territories. This role oversees field sales teams to ensure operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth across our entire footprint. You'll develop and execute growth strategies, manage sales account reps and brand managers, build lasting client partnerships, and champion our brand in the market. This role is perfect for a business-savvy, entrepreneurial, customer-centric leader with deep multi-unit retail and cannabis industry experience. Key Responsibilities Territory & Team Leadership Oversee a team of Sales Account Managers and Brand Territory Managers across multiple territories, providing coaching, development, and performance management. Lead strategic territory planning, ensuring effective account coverage, client relationship management, and market expansion. Revenue Growth & Market Development Drive new business development and revenue growth initiatives, meeting or exceeding district sales targets. Cultivate strong dispensary partnerships and maximize product penetration in each market. Operational & Sales Process Management Implement and oversee consistent sales processes, pipeline management, and CRM activity tracking across all territories. Ensure compliance with cannabis regulations, company policies, and risk management protocols in all sales activities. Program & Promotional Execution Lead the successful rollout of product launches, promotional campaigns, and retail support programs for the sales team to deploy. Monitor, report, and optimize district-level promotional performance and ROI. Job Requirements Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, Retail Management, Sales, or related field. 5+ years of experience in multi-unit retail or sales management roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity within the cannabis industry or similarly regulated market. Proven track record of achieving financial and operational goals across multi-site locations and sales territories. Strong leadership, mentorship, and team development abilities. In-depth understanding of cannabis regulations, retail operations, inventory management, and account management. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. High proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM platforms, and data analytics tools Other Willingness Requirements Must be 21+ years of age. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to travel frequently between multiple locations and states. Must pass a comprehensive background check per state and local cannabis regulations. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work varied schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. District Sales Manager KPIs Record data based on sales activities and events, effectively present data to teams and Director of Retail Perform on all Key Performance Indicators, including but not limited to: New account acquisition Existing account growth and retention Sales volume and revenue targets Client meetings and site visits Product line penetration rates Training completion rates Communication and reporting compliance Additional Responsibilities Champion a customer-centric culture by setting the standard for exceptional service and consumer-focused standards for sales team. Resolve client issues promptly and professionally Actively seek retail feedback to continuously improve the Dark Horse experience Become a brand-building subject matter expert for all our portfolio products. Record all activities in our Customer Relationship Management system as trained and directed. Coordinate and support planned promotions in conjunction to help increase sales. Increase participation in budtender events and competitions. Manage the budtender education training initiatives that Brand Territory Managers will deploy. Provide feedback to the sales and marketing departments regarding customers' insights and questions. Compile data on competitive products, sales, and marketing tactics. Educate Sales Account Managers and Brand Territory Managers on Dark Horse & affiliate brands products, history, features and benefits, and sales techniques. Schedule, plan, confirm, and conduct store pop-ups and other brand events for Brand Territory Managers to deploy that will increase sales as necessary. Work with the marketing team to ensure the distribution of branding materials to dispensaries. Assist in the management and coordination of outside promotional events and strategies. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including distributors, retailers, and industry influencers. Research and vet local events for brand appearances and sponsorships. Coordinate, attend, and work trade shows and other industry events as a spokesperson for the Company within and outside office hours. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
