Full description of the position
Group Sales Manager The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of progressive sales experience in the Association and / or Sacramento market and fill a vital role in supporting our hotel's financial goals through selling guestrooms, catering services and meeting rooms. They will be responsible for strategically and proactively soliciting and developing new accounts, responding to leads and conducting site tours, while maintaining excellent rapport with existing accounts, building new relationships and successfully promoting the hotel to the community. We are seeking an experienced, professional with excellent sales skills, that will meet or exceed budgeted goals and actively participate in CALSAE. Some travel is required to meet the needs of the Association Market. Delphi experience is a plus. We offer a competitive salary with quarterly bonuses based on performance. Skills and Knowledge Requirements * Must have (3+) years of progressive sales experience. * Previous experience in the hospitality industry preferred; experience selling luxury brands and experiential services preferred. * Aggressive negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business with a high conversion ratio * Possesses systems knowledge (Delphi and Delphi Diagrams). * Must be able to "Knock on doors" to get the business * Knows how to conduct research on the Internet. * Weekly prospecting and soliciting goals * Uncovering new customers * Effective sales skills to up-sell products and services * Knowledge of menu planning, food presentation, and banquet and event service operations * Ability to manage guest room and meeting space inventories * Strong customer development and relationship management skills * Knowledge of contract management and legalities * Financial management skills e.g., ability to understand P&L statements, manage operating budgets, forecasting and scheduling * Strong communication skills (verbal, listening, writing) * Strong problem-solving skills * Strong customer and associate relation skills * Strong presentation and platform skills * Strong organization skills * Strong "Closing skills" * Strong "persuasion" skills * Ability to use standard software applications and hotel systems * Effective decision making skills Job Type: Full-time Pay: $70,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year Benefits: * Dental insurance * Employee discount * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Vision insurance Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Monday to Friday * Weekends as needed Ability to Commute: * Sacramento, CA 95815 (Required) Ability to Relocate: * Sacramento, CA 95815: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In personDoubletree By Hilton
