Job Title: Business Development Manager Location: Des Moines, IA Join Loffredo Fresh Foods as a Business Development Manager based out of our Des Moines Headquarters. We are a local, family-owned food and produce distributor that has proudly served the Midwest region for over 130 years. We distribute to 11 different states across our 6 locations. The Business Development Manager at Loffredo Fresh Foods is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new foodservice customers within your assigned territory. In this role, you'll also oversee a small team of 1 to 3 Sales Account Managers, ensuring a smooth transition of newly acquired customers. This is a true hunter role--ideal for someone who thrives on prospecting, networking, and building relationships from the ground up. You'll be the face of Loffredo Fresh Foods to potential customers, demonstrating our value, products, and service excellence. Your focus will be uncovering and closing new business opportunities across restaurants, institutions, hospitality, healthcare, and other foodservice segments. Pay: Base salary + bonus eligibility + car stipend/fuel card What we look for: * Reliable transportation and ability to pass a motor vehicle check and background check * Proven experience in B2B new business development, outside sales, or territory growth * Prior experience in the foodservice, produce, or distribution industry is strongly preferred * A hunter mentality with the drive to hit the pavement, make cold calls, and open doors * Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field is preferred * Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills * Proven ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships * Passion for delivering excellent service and creating value for clients * Ability to travel to customer locations as needed What you 'll do: * Identify and pursue new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, referrals, and lead generation tools * Support and guide 1-3 Account Managers by transitioning new clients for long-term relationship management * Develop and execute strategic territory plans to grow our market share * Conduct prospect meetings, deliver compelling presentations, and build customized proposals that demonstrate value * Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and opportunities through consistent outreach and follow-up * Collaborate with internal teams (pricing, customer service, logistics) to ensure seamless onboarding of new accounts * Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, and regional market dynamics * Meet or exceed sales goals and performance KPIs related to new customer acquisition What you 'll gain as a Loffredo Team Member: * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision, available the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment * 401k with company match available following 6 months of employment * Additional voluntary insurance such as basic/supplemental life and disability * Paid time off & Paid holidays * Bi-Weekly Pay or the option to enroll in Daily Pay for immediate access to earned wages * Regular and constructive performance feedback * Healthy, fresh produce you can take home to your family through our generous employee purchase program Benefits: * 401(k) * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Disability insurance * Employee assistance program * Flexible spending account * Health insurance * Health savings account * Life insurance * Paid time off * Prescription drug insurance * Vision insurance Schedule: * 8 hour shift * Day shift * Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: * Bonus opportunities Work Location: In person
