We are a beautiful, high-end bakery/coffee spot in University Park, Dallas. From our full, in-house kitchen, we share laminated dough pastries all the way through rich cookies, cupcakes, brownies and doughnuts. Our coffee program was designed by and is sourced exclusively through a Dallas-based National-award winning micro-roaster. DIRECTOR OF CATERING JOB DESCRIPTION The Director of Catering is responsible for promoting, soliciting, and executing an excellent catering business for our luxury bakey and coffee shop. While you may spend some time at a desk, this position is boots on the ground, pursuing business opportunities and using outside of the box thinking to generate new clients while nurturing relationships with current clients. You're not only a salesperson, but you're also responsible for the superb execution of catering orders that drives loyalty and repeat business. Furthermore, you will work independently and together with our Executive Team to identify community/industry opportunities (e.g., events, corporate outings, festivals) where our excellent food can be shared/featured. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Proactively solicit new business through networking, cold-calling, marketing/mailings, and sample drops. * Drive new relationships with businesses/clients (law firms, doctor's offices, hospitals, pharmaceutical reps, etc.) to build an active list of accounts. * Respond to incoming inquiries via web/phone for all of our catering orders/events. * Present products and services to groups of customers and prospects. * Manage orders from sales to completion (BEO writing to invoicing), acting as a go-between for clients and team preparing the order. * Successfully complete catering orders to guest satisfaction while maintaining margins for our bakery. * Evaluate guest feedback and provide input for operational changes necessary to ensure guest satisfaction. * Solicit/monitor client satisfaction scores in staff helpfulness, food quality and overall event while leading by example to exceed brand benchmarks. * Maintain regular attendance and a flexible schedule to accommodate clients' needs. * Understand the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, etc. and ability to competitively sell against them. * Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their catering/event. * Meet or exceed established monthly, quarterly and annual targeted sales goals and profit margins. * Collaborate with Owner and Executive Team to determine budget and forecast targets, and report based on such. * Bring it. QUALIFICATIONS: * Requires thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering industry, food and beverage, menu development and pricing. * Brand knowledge and familiarity with all products offered. * Flexible schedule to accommodate orders outside of regular business hours, including weekends and evenings. * Personable disposition, with ability to drive outside sales, and attract and retain a client base. * Effective communication skills, including ability to negotiate, influence and sell. * Ability to interpret and perform basic computer and POS system functions. # This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
