Our people are the foundation of our excellence and agility. SSU is currently recruiting for a Business Development Associate to join the Business Development Team. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic and results-driven professional with a strong background in business development, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should possess a keen understanding of market trends, a proven ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships, and a strategic mindset to identify new business opportunities. Location: Fayetteville, NC Duties and Responsibilities The ideal Business Development Associate would be an individual who is highly motivated, adaptable to change, and committed to contributing to the growth and success of SSU's Business Development Team. * Maintain, organize, and continuously update past performance records to enhance proposal competitiveness, ensuring accurate and compelling project histories are readily available for future submissions. * Coordinate, schedule, and actively participate in meetings with clients, government agencies, prime contractors, and industry partners, fostering strong relationships and identifying strategic opportunities for collaboration. * Monitor, track, and manage pipeline opportunities, proposal deadlines, and contract performance, ensuring timely submissions, compliance with requirements, and alignment with business development strategies. * Assist in the development and submission of high-quality, compliant proposals and quotes for clients, ensuring alignment with solicitation requirements, pricing accuracy, and adherence to FAR/DFARS regulations. * Manage and maintain the corporate opportunity pipeline within SSU's capture management tool, ensuring data accuracy, streamlined administration, and actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. * Assist in the creation and refinement of capability statements, white papers, and presentations, ensuring they effectively showcase the company's expertise, value propositions, and past performance to government clients and industry partners. * Play a key role in the planning and coordination of trade shows and expos to maximize SSU's visibility and networking opportunities. * Develop a deep understanding of SSU's business operations and culture to better align with organizational goals and values. Required Professional Qualifications: * Eligible for Top Secret clearance * A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred OR at least 4 years of relevant work experience in business development or government contracting. * Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely. * Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to a positive working environment. * Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Knowledge of government procurement processes and contract vehicles. * Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other productivity software, with the ability to create reports, analyze data, and develop professional products. * Self-motivated and proactive, with a demonstrated ability to work independently while aligning with strategic frameworks and organizational goals. * Good business acumen, with a solid understanding of market dynamics and business development principles. * Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to seeking clarification through asking thoughtful questions. Proven ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects and assignments simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining quality. * Excellent organizational skills, including meticulous attention to detail and effective time management. * Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities and willingness to take on diverse responsibilities in day-to-day tasks.
