Renewable Energy Consultant, Project Engineer Overview The Renewable Energy Consultant, Project Engineer will assist in providing renewable energy project reviews and technical due diligence to support the advisory team. The role will contribute to the technical review of renewable energy projects and portfolios for investors, financing parties, developers, and project owners. The role may be hired as Associate Renewable Energy Consultant or Renewable Energy Consultant commensurate with candidate's qualifications and experience. U.S. only, Exempt Level Position Location : Hybrid: Seattle, WA, Golden, CO, or Saratoga Springs, NY Experience: 0-5 years Renewable Energy experience: Wind, Solar, BESS Roles and Responsibilities * Carry out technical reviews of project designs, technology, contracts, environmental and permitting, and other technical aspects of renewable energy projects. * Writing and reviewing due diligence and independent engineering reports. * Maintain internal project databases and related information. * Develop expertise in a core technical area while gaining experience in other fields such as technology reviews (wind/solar/storage), construction and equipment supply contracts, operating contracts, electrical and civil engineering, permitting, and financial model reviews. * Support successful project management for Advisory projects, ensuring client objectives and project deliverables are met. * Help maintain relationships with clients and equipment OEMs, addressing technical issues as needed. * Complete technical site visits for wind/solar/storage projects at various stages (development, construction, and operation) with support and training. * Ensure timely, high-quality, and budget-compliant delivery of assigned tasks. * Provide feedback to project managers on budgets when supporting projects not directly assigned to you. * Able to apply various methods, tools, and techniques effectively to solve complex problems. * Up to 20% travel may be required. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline. Desirable Qualifications and Experience: * 2+ experience in a technical aspect of renewable energy project design or development. * Advanced degree and EIT certification preferred. * Experience in more than one renewable energy source: wind, solar, BESS. * Experience in consulting, due diligence, and independent engineering. Pragmatic approach to problem solving, with a basic understanding of solar energy concepts, renewable project development and financing.
