Summary / Objective The Sales Consultant is responsible for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction while achieving sales goals and targets. This role involves direct customer interaction, sales promotion, and managing customer relationships to drive product sales and knowledge. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * Meet with customers in a sales environment to drive product sales and provide product knowledge. * Assess customer needs and provide assistance and information on products. * Answer and resolve customer questions, issues, and concerns. * Perform customer follow-up to ensure expectations are met. * Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer, vendor, and supplier relationships. * Create and update customer accounts in company software, including details of inquiries, complaints, pictures, and files. * Prepare cost analysis and project estimates by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, and overhead costs. * Prepare customer quotes, proposals, bids, sales orders, work orders, invoices, and pay applications, distributing them to the appropriate person and/or department. * Act as Purchasing for custom and specialty projects when necessary. * Regularly achieve goals and sales targets on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. * Assist the Production Manager with implementing project schedules when necessary. * Oversee the lifespan of assigned jobs and projects, sharing pertinent customer information with the Production Team and offering solutions based on customer needs. * Maintain assigned company vehicle, ensuring preventative maintenance and routine checks are performed timely. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending departmental meetings and educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies and associations. Work Environment This position operates in both a professional office environment as well as in outdoor weather conditions. This role is often exposed to elements such as extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, ice, etc. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets and fax machines. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel Travel is primarily local during business hours, although some travel outside the local area may be required. Required Education and Experience * Associate's degree or equivalent. Work experience may be substituted on a year-by-year basis. * Minimum 2 years of related industry experience. * Proven track record of sales performance metrics.
