TITLE: SALES ENGINEER FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT REPORTS TO:*SR. DIRECTOR, ACCOUNTS About ATL: Based in Hong Kong, Amperex Technology Limited is the industry leader in the design, manufacture, sales, and marketing of rechargeable lithium ion/polymer battery cells and related battery packs and systems. Our lithium battery products are widely used in consumer electronics products like laptop computers, smart/cellular phone, and numerous flavors of IT gadgets. For additional information, please see our website at: [please apply online] SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Accounts, the Sales Engineer helps maintain customer relationships for key accounts: recommends products that meet customer requirements; demonstrates products and programs to potential customers; works with cross functional teams to qualify customer programs; monitors and manages production and lead times to meet customer requirements; improves customer satisfaction. This position is located in Milpitas, California. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Partners with the Sales Account Manager to manage key customer account commercial performance including pricing, share allocation, forecast, schedule, capacity planning, market research, and contract negotiations with customers to meet or maximize the established business targets * Provides technical support during pre-sales and post-sales activities * Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to proactively address customer needs or concerns * Uses project management skills to manages time-to-market schedule from early concept development through mass production * Collaborates with internal cross-functional teams to ensure products meet the highest level of performance and customer product expectations * Adheres to all safety policies and procedures as required * Performs other duties of a similar nature or level* MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Engineering and/or equivalent relevant experience; Master's degree preferred * Three years of hands-on experience working in sales or key account management * Strong experience with delivering client-based solutions, developing relationships with external partners, and driving sales goals * Domestic and international travel maybe required * Must be bilingual in English and Mandarin * Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office application Knowledge, skill, and abilities: * Knowledge of sales or business development principles, practices, and techniques in the electrical/electronic and lithium-ion battery fields * Knowledge and ability to successfully manage programs of various size, scope, and budget * Knowledge of electronics or electronic design, PCB board layout, and ability to read and understand basic schematics * Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, Word documents, and presentations * Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of contractors, consultants, employees, and management * Able to work productively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management * Able to comply with all safety policies and procedures * Demonstrated organizational and time management skills * Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skills * Flexible and able to prioritize * The annual base salary for this full-time position is between $120,819.00-$177,675.00 + benefits. Within the range the individual pay may differ depending on additional factors including job responsibilities, job related knowledge, skills, abilities, education, and experience. The annual base pay range shown is subject to change and may be modified periodically. WORKING CONDITIONS: The Sales Engineer works primarily in an office environment from Monday thru Friday. The schedule may be altered from time-to-time to meet business or operational needs. Spends a majority of time in a seated position, but occasionally stands and walks; performs various fine grasping movements, bends, and twists; operates a computer and enters information using a keyboard, operates a telephone, and other office equipment. Travels by car or plane to and from customer locations as needed; travels both domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
