Overview Join our team of professionals at VMW Freight Express! Family-owned and operated since 1986 has an immediate opening for a full-time Freight Sales & Business Development Manager to join our experienced team. Will be responsible for generating new business and cultivating existing business by securing freight loads, building long-term relationships with shippers, brokers, 3PLs, and other industry partners, and effectively leveraging load boards and industry contacts. This role is critical in expanding our customer base, ensuring optimal utilization of our assets, and contributing directly to revenue growth. Duties * Proactively identify, target, and secure new shippers and customers. * Utilize load boards, brokers, 3PLs, RPs, and industry contacts to source quality freight. * Conduct cold calls, video meetings, and face-to-face presentations as required. * Negotiate rates and contracts that maximize profitability while ensuring competitive service levels. * Manage the sales cycle from lead generation to closing deals. * Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with industry executives, shippers, and other key stakeholders. * Collaborate closely with operations and human resources to ensure seamless contract execution and customer satisfaction. * Provide regular market insights and feedback to the team for continuous improvement. * Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as new customer acquisition, load bookings, revenue contribution, and conversion rates. * Continuously refine sales strategies based on performance data and industry trends. Experience & Skills * Minimum of 3+ years in freight brokerage or B2B sales within the logistics/transportation industry. * Demonstrated success in securing new business and achieving revenue targets. * Deep understanding of load boards (e.g., DAT, Truckstop, etc.) and freight market dynamics. * Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills. * Strong analytical abilities with a focus on sales performance metrics. * Proficiency with freight management tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. * Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.
