JOB TITLE: RELATIONSHIP SALES MANAGER (RSM) COMPANY: PACIFIC BUILDING SYSTEMS Pre-Engineered Metal Building Manufacturer Since 1962 LOCATION: Southern Oregon / Central Oregon / Eastern Oregon / Northern California THE RIGHT CANDIDATE MUST LIVE IN ONE OF THE LOCATIONS ABOVE ASSIGNED SERVICE TERRITORIES: Southern Oregon / Central Oregon / Eastern Oregon / Northern California Purpose The purpose of this full-time position is to provide local representation and develop growth within the assigned geographical sales territory. Relationship Sales Managers professionally represent the performance, profits, service, sales, and marketing functions for the products and services that Pacific Building Systems provide specifically Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings (PEMB) and Components. The Relationship Sales Manager (RSM) is expected to achieve mutually established sales goals, grow existing accounts, develop new business, and identify potential dealership opportunities. Objective The RSM's primary objective is to establish a strong local presence, actively pursue quoting opportunities for Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMB) projects, secure contracts, and cultivate strong relationships with potential, new, and existing customers--as well as key influencers such as erectors, engineers, and professional networking groups. The RSM collaborates with the Director of Building Sales to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while maintaining agreed-upon profit margins. Success in this role requires a mindset focused on creating mutually beneficial outcomes for the customer, the team, and the company. Responsibilities (including but not limited to): * Manage the assigned geographical territory to build relationships and provide building solutions. * Maintain an active sales funnel by logging "Leads," "Contacts," "Activity," and "Deals" in the CRM system (currently Zendesk). * Face-to-Face Meeting Requirements (New Hire Roll-Out): * Month 1: 15 face-to-face meetings/week (60/month) * Month 2: 23 face-to-face meetings/week (92/month) * Month 3+: 30+ face-to-face meetings/week (120+/month) * At least 20% of face-to-face meetings must be scheduled appointments with prospective customers. * Follow up on referrals and introductions from satisfied customers. This includes personal sales, team sales, marketing initiatives, proactive prospecting, developing new accounts, and growth of existing accounts. * Deliver and follow up on deals generated by Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs), with the main goal of landing the order. * Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual goals for buildings sold and revenue generated--within company processes, procedures, and profit guidelines. * Develop and execute annual account plans by studying customer sales volumes and identifying sales opportunities. * Maintain professional behavior, appearance, and dress when meeting with customers. * Honor commitments or revise them when circumstances change significantly. * Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information (pricing, products, delivery schedules, etc.). * Establish a routine schedule to ensure monthly solicitation in each active sector. * Complete extensive product training (estimated 6 months initially, with continued learning throughout the first year). Overnight travel may be required. * Understand and define PEMB building requirements clearly. * Build relationships with architects and engineers to position PBS as the preferred PEMB provider on specified projects. * Attend professional and sales development workshops; review relevant publications and maintain professional networks. * Take a strategic approach to customer relationships by coordinating customer-facing resources and deepening engagement. * Review PBS contract terms and conditions with customers. * Review project documents and ensure accuracy. * Effectively communicate essential information to the Inside Sales team to align goals and expectations. * Maintain professionalism under stressful or challenging situations. * Communicate clearly, logically, and succinctly. * Present recommendations and conclusions backed by data. * Organize and represent the company at project coordination meetings as needed. * Assist in developing procedures and training for RSM's, ISR's, PM's, etc. * Prepare and present your strategy, performance, and account analysis during in-person Quarterly Reviews. * Submit weekly expense reports using the "Concur" system, including receipts, participant names, and topics discussed. * Participate actively in weekly sales meetings (currently held via Microsoft Teams). Preferred Qualifications and Experience * High school diploma required. * 2+ years of comparable sales experience in PEMB, construction, manufacturing, or building supply. * Basic understanding of the construction industry. * Ability to read and understand architectural drawings. * Experience with computers and data entry. * Basic math proficiency. * Must live within the assigned territory or be willing to relocate.
