Location: Honolulu, HI Summary: Serves in the role of In-house agent. Generates new business through inbound and outbound sales calls from highly interested potential customers. Handles common and some moderately difficult policy inquiries, changes, quotes and billing inquiries over the telephone. Adheres to sales, service and quality standards adopted by the department/ company. Services and maintains a small book of business with a minimum premium quota. Duties: Sales and Customer Engagement * Sells Personal Lines products to prospects. * Prequalifies and analyzes prospects' coverage needs. * Recommends coverages and prepares rating quotes and proposals to sell new accounts. * Actively solicits increases in coverage and rounding out accounts through sales to clients. * Actively seeks referrals from current clients to solicit new business prospects; follows up to generate new business using prospects database and system. * Provides customer service calls and policy inquiries on current clients in a timely and professional manner as required by departmental policies and procedures. * Provides back-up support to IIA team members in the performance of job duties as required. * Possesses a positive, service-oriented attitude towards agencies, insureds, and employees within the company. Expertise and Leadership * Performs duties with a high level of autonomy and handles difficult, complex, and higher risk issues. * Serves as a subject matter expert, may provide coaching to junior staff and serve as a resource. * Serves as backup in the absence of the supervisor. Marketing and Compliance * May occasionally conduct presentations to employee or professional groups and manage follow-up meetings. * Effectively understands the marketplace and changing market conditions, keeping abreast of trends and techniques to maintain a competitive status. * Ensures state and federal compliance. * Represents the company at public and community events as needed. Education and/or Experience: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor's degree in Business discipline preferred. * 1 to 2 years personal lines insurance experience required to include call center, customer service, and/or sales experience. * Equivalent education, experience, and training will be considered. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: * Hawaii state Property and Casualty Solicitor's License obtained within 90 days of hire. * Valid Hawaii Driver's license and use of own vehicle.
