Full description of the position
Summary: The Regional Director of Sales will serve our guests with courtesy while efficiently and effectively providing the highest standards of customer service at all times. In cooperation with Corporate and Management Staff, the Regional Director of Sales is fully responsible for the revenue, occupancy, and REVPAR growth and performance for the property(ies) in which they represent. Reports To: Corporate Director of Sales - You will report directly to the Corporate Director of Sales. Additionally, you are expected to maintain a professional and respectful working relationship with the General Manager at each property you represent. Essential Duties: * Represent the property and company at community, and networking functions. * The RDOS will take all appropriate classes required by the brand he or she is representing and stay current with brand standard requirements. * Stay up to date with Daly Seven Inc. standard/programs * The RDOS will complete all Daly Seven required training. * The RDOS will implement and lead all sales activities in cooperation with the market strategy agreed upon by the CDOS, Revenue Manager & GM. * The RDOS will coordinate service activities related to sales functions to maximize customer satisfaction & overall profitability. * The RDOS will control dates, availability & rates on guest rooms and function space in their respective Revenue Management System along with their assigned Revenue Manager and property GM. * The RDOS will input all sales activities, bookings, proposals & contracts into (Delphi.fdc or applicable sales system). * Design and propose programs to meet the needs of clients. * Coordinate transient & group room commitments to ensure proper market mix. * Establish rapport with guests and clients to obtain return business to the property. * Review sales statistics & market analysis to formulate policy, determine client needs, occupancy potential & rates desired. * Review package plans, special sales activities, promotions, public relations activities & advertising material. * Resolve issues with clients threatening to change properties, and customer issues as they arise. * Participate with the local Chamber of Commerce in markets where it is warranted. In addition, join one committee. * Plan and prepare for any marketing sales blitzes as needed. * Conduct and/or attend meetings to maintain working relationships with employees to promote maximum morale, productivity and efficiency while keeping a good open line of communication with Operations. * The RDOS will work closely with all departments to create a cohesive working relationship between all employees/departments. * The RDOS will have a continued focus on the Sales of the hotel property to include: actively seeking new business from the guests/clients who are currently staying at the hotel by: * Sending thank you notes * Phone calls * Providing welcome in-room gifts for new guests/clients/companies * VIP guest rooms before arrival * The RDOS will research new companies, developments and market trends online to target new business for the property. * The RDOS will work to solicit appointments/business via phone, via email and in person. * The RDOS will provide site tours of the property for all interested guests and/or groups. * The RDOS will prepare proposals, group agreements, LNR agreements as needed daily for new and potential business. * The RDOS will participate in the RFP process and handle all incoming RFP?s to the hotel in cooperation with the hotel leadership team. * The RDOS will follow-up on groups booked, such as room night pick up, rooming lists & cut-off dates to ensure maximum occupancy on a daily basis in cooperation with Operations. * Enhance the property community image & stay abreast of competition, new developments & sales methods, techniques in the hospitality industry to maximize profitability. * DOS will provide pricing and negotiate, as needed to win the business * RDOS will present a proposal, group agreement or local negotiated rate agreement to the client in person or via email within 4 hours of meeting. * Follow up on meetings/calls to obtain the business, incoming calls and emails must be responded to within 1 business day. * Review all groups in inventory and follow-up with clients on groups booked in cooperation with Operations. * Discuss room night pick-up * Rooming lists needed * Cut-off dates to ensure maximum occupancy daily. * Communicate with front desk department in regard to new groups, changes and requirements * The RDOS will perform any other sales duties/responsibilities as assigned by the Corporate Director of Sales. * The DOS will take the lead on the roll out of the front desk lead program with assistance of GMs and AGMs * The RDOS is a leadership role.
