Job Title : Event Sales & Marketing Manager Location : Greenhorn Creek Resort, Angels Camp California Status : Full-time employment, On-site Hours : Full Time - weekends, holidays, evenings, days, and late nights required Compensation : $68,000 - $70,000 and Sales Incentives/ additional compensation through shared banquet operating fees. Greenhorn Creek Resort is seeking an experienced Event Sales & Marketing Manager to join our dynamic team. Below is a detailed outline of the roles responsibilities and qualifications. * Position Overview* : The Event Sales & Marketing Manager will oversee the development of new and existing market segments, with a focus on building strong customer relationships while driving strategic marketing initiatives to promote Greenhorn Creek Resort as a premier event destination. This role will be responsible for selling and coordinating events across Weddings, Social Events, Corporate functions, Golf Tournaments, and Member Events. As the primary point of contact throughout the sales process, the Event Sales & Marketing Manager will ensure smooth execution of all events from start to finish, including event planning, menu creation, and coordination with the Resort team. The ideal candidate will also contribute to site inspections, maintain strong client relationships, lead the sales and catering team, and manage the Resorts marketing efforts to drive event bookings. * Key Responsibilities: * Event Sales & Planning: Actively seek out new business opportunities within the Weddings, Social, Corporate, and Golf Tournament markets. Respond promptly to inquiries, qualify leads, and convert them into confirmed bookings to meet or exceed quarterly sales targets. Engage and reply to sales leads, including re-engaging past clients and following up with business opportunities to build lasting relationships. * Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and event planners, ensuring a seamless event experience and exceeding client expectations. * Event Coordination: Plan and execute all aspects of events, including menu development, agenda-setting, and venue preparation. Assist in the execution of the day of event details to ensure smooth operations. * Team Leadership: Lead the sales and catering staff, ensuring a collaborative, efficient, and positive work environment. Attend weekly meetings to review upcoming events and ensure all details are handled. * Management of Department Employees: Oversee the performance of department employees, including the sales coordinator, providing guidance, support, and training. Ensure all team members are meeting departmental goals and expectations while fostering a positive, motivated team culture. * Golf Tournament Food & Beverage Sales: Coordinate and manage food and beverage offerings for golf tournaments, ensuring an exceptional culinary experience for participants. Develop customized F&B packages tailored to tournament needs, from boxed lunches to full banquet-style meals, and work closely with clients to exceed expectations. * Customer Service: Address client needs and respond to any event-related challenges with creative solutions. Maintain communication with clients pre-event, during the event, and post-event to ensure complete satisfaction. * Administrative Duties: Oversee all aspects of contract administration, including Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), floor plans, deposits, and final guarantees. Regularly track sales and event progress. * Team Leadership: Lead the sales and catering staff, ensuring a collaborative, efficient, and positive work environment. Attend weekly meetings to review upcoming events and ensure all details are handled. * Marketing Strategy & Execution: * Develop and implement targeted marketing campaigns to promote Greenhorn Creek Resort as the go-to venue for weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and golf tournaments. * Create and manage content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) to engage prospective clients, showcase successful events, and highlight the Resorts unique offerings. * Collaborate with the marketing team to produce promotional materials such as brochures, creation of marketing collateral, email campaigns, and website updates that drive brand awareness and generate leads. * Build and maintain relationships with local vendors, event planners, and influencers to expand the Resorts event network and increase visibility. * Monitor and analyze the performance of marketing campaigns to assess return on investment (ROI) and adjust strategies accordingly. * Industry Awareness: Stay informed of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the guest experience and enhance the Resort's event offerings. * Revenue & Forecasting: Assist with forecasting revenue for the catering department, tracking financials, and meeting budgetary goals. * Essential Skills & Qualities*: * Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust messaging based on audience and situation. * Organization & Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple events and tasks in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. * Sales Acumen: Proven experience in selling high-end events, including weddings, social gatherings, corporate functions, and golf tournaments. * Marketing Expertise: Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, content creation, and brand management, with experience in developing and executing successful marketing campaigns. * Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly find solutions to event-related challenges while keeping clients and management informed. * Team Collaboration: A proactive, driven individual who thrives in a team-oriented environment but is also capable of working independently. * Passion for Events: A deep passion for food, people, and creating memorable experiences. * Qualifications* : Experience: Minimum of 5-6 years in catering, event sales, and marketing, preferably in luxury or high-end venues. Country club experience is a plus but not required. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and event management software such as Event360, LightSpeed and Kuote Machine (preferred). Marketing Skills: Strong background in digital marketing, social media management, and content creation for luxury venues. Language Skills: Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Physical Requirements: Occasional walking, standing, squatting, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment. Availability: Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and some holidays, particularly during the busy season (May December). * Benefits & Compensation*: Salary : $68,000 - $70,000 per year * Incentives : Such as share of the Sales percentage based on serviced sales.
