Pay starting at $30/hr. * Events & Sales Manager Department: Sales & Operations Job Status: ? Full-Time ? Part-Time FLSA Status: ? Non-Exempt ? Exempt Reports To: Department Head Grade/Level: ? Hourly ?Salaried Amount of Travel Required: Varies. Occasional overnight travel required Work Schedule: Work schedule varies based on business levels. Flexible hours and weekend work required POSITION PURPOSE The Sales & Event Manager is responsible for discussing and coordinating all details of a conference/meeting with the client and communicates this information through respective hotel department heads after the sales contract has been signed. This position will also have a Sales component in which they solicit, sell, and contract for assigned market. This includes outside and inside sales solicitation to grow new business. The Sales & Event Manager will also be a Manager on Duty, during the times of need and events. The responsibilities of this position will be structured as 70% Events/Operations - 30% Sales. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - If Applicable Participates in training new employees. Oversees the daily workflow of assigned employees. Provides constructive and timely performance feedback to employees. Participates in discipline of employees in accordance with company policy. Responsibilities: * Understands and abides by all safety protocols. * Willingly embrace last-minute changes in direction and unexpected changes in operational plan. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Maintains positive guest relations at all times. * Act as Manager On Duty, as needed. * Achievement of monthly and quarterly booking goals. * Skillfully respond to incoming leads and maximize conversion from all sources. * Creatively sell available hotel space to maximize revenue. Including but not limited to utilizing social media. * Finalizing banquet event orders and contacting customers for final counts as needed * Responsible for ensuring that information regarding to set up and breakdown of all Sales & Catering functions are communicated via Banquet Event Orders (BEO). * Assist with set up and breakdown as needed. * Communicates with appropriate departments regarding set-up changes and final counts. * Schedule staff hours and assign duties. * Understands and works closely with Banquet and F&B team to ensure guest needs are met. * Estimate food, liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption to anticipate amounts to be purchased or requisitioned. * Perform some food preparation or service tasks such as clearing tables, and serving food and drinks when necessary. * Establishes on-sight customer contact as needed and introduces customer to the service staff * Remains up-to-date with hotel events and guests, as they affect the areas of responsibilities. * Work with Accounting & Front Office team to ensure that billing is accurate before it is sent to clients. * Ensures that all guest checks, payments, master folios and advanced deposits are submitted to accounting; ensures that any other group information, which is necessary and/or helpful for successful convention business, is submitted to appropriate departments. * Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, hotel and company policies and procedures. * Proficient use of computer, software and technology. * Conducts oneself at all times in a professional business manner, acts as a professional representative of the hotel and an enthusiastic member of the sales team. * Position may be required to occasionally work flexible hours and weekends.
