For more information visit [please apply online] The Business Development Manager - Spacecraft & Satellites role is a key driver of company growth through the identification, pursuit, and capture of new customers and aerospace projects and programs. This position involves identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders, coordinating proposal and solution development, and implementing strategies to achieve competitive advantage. The specific territory for this position is the *Spacecraft & Satellites *market sector. The successful candidate will have direct experience with government customer agencies, prime contractor aerospace companies, and relevant programs including, but not limited to: * Space Development Agency (SDA) * US Space Force * NASA * Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) * Northrop Grumman * Lockheed Martin * Boeing Space & Defense * Maxar * Astranis * Starlink * Amazon Kuiper Key Responsibilities Principle job responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Achieve Revenue and Gross Margin Growth Through New and Follow-on Sales Capture. * Prospect, identify and develop Net New Customers and programs, with which the company has not previously or not recently conducted business. * Nurture Existing Customer Accounts within the assigned market sector and position Applied Aerospace for new programs in the account or growth on existing contracts. * Build a Qualified Pipeline of sales opportunities based on assigned targets and company growth objectives. * Create and maintain updated Capture Plans for strategic customers or accounts prioritized by senior management. * Maintain up-to-date entries for all assigned sales opportunities and accounts in the Company Customer Resource Management (CRM) tool - ZOHO. * Present qualified opportunities at Bid Review meetings to collaborate across engineering, program management and operations functions and obtain pricing approval from senior management * Lead the development of Bids & Proposals and presentations in response to RFPs, ensuring high-quality submissions. * Negotiate and close business deals to meet sales Bookings targets and drive revenue and gross margin growth. 2. Gather Firsthand Market and Industry Information to Inform Business Strategy * Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including OEMs, government entities, and suppliers. * Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote brand visibility and build industry connections. * Collaborate with Engineering and Product Development to align company offerings with emerging customer requirements. * Collaborate with Marketing to develop sales tools and materials to facilitate capture. * Prepare and present reports on business development activities, market trends, and performance to senior management. General Position Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Aerospace, or a related field required. * Master's degree in relevant field preferred but not required. * Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field within the aerospace and defense industry. * Track Record of closing multi-million sales contracts within aerospace and defense. * Proven experience managing sales processes, from lead generation to contract closure. * In-depth understanding of the aerospace market, including technologies, regulatory frameworks, and key players. * Experience with direct U.S. government contracts and the FAR/DFARS procurement is strong positive but not required. * Strong financial acumen and experience with pricing models and contract negotiations. * Experience with Customer Resource Management (CRM) tools - Salesforce/ ZOHO. * Experience with proposal management, contract negotiation, and managing long-term client relationships. * Skills & Abilities Business Acumen: Solid knowledge of the aerospace & defense industry and business practices, with the ability to identify, quantify, and plan opportunities for growth. Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop long-term business strategies and execute key initiatives that align with company goals. Networking: Ability to represent the company at industry events and build long-term partnerships with key stakeholders. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities, capable of developing presentations, plans, and reports as tools for business development and senior management to make informed data-driven decisions. Negotiation: Proficient in negotiating contracts and closing deals while maintaining positive relationships with clients. Project Management: Skilled in managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
