Job Title: Event Sales Manager- Full-Time Onsite Role Department: Sales and Production Reports to: General Manager FLSA: Exempt Last Updated: April 17, 2025 The Company Cohasset Hospitality Partners (CHP) was founded in 2018 and manages The Red Lion Inn, The Olde Salt House, and other retail and development properties on the South Shore. Organizational Structure & Overview The Red Lion Inn Sales Manager position requires a positive, dynamic individual with a proven track record in sales and negotiation. The position requires working onsite at the Red Lion Inn's physical location in Cohasset for a whole work week with a flexible schedule. The Sales Manager prossesses exceptional workflow and time management skills, outstanding communication skills, and an enthusiasm for special events. We seek a team player, a colleague who works within best practices, co-operates, works well with others, is sensitive to cultural differences and diversity, and understands the service-profit chain concept (e.g., happy colleagues=happy guests=profit) The Event Sales Manager is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth through the strategic planning, development, and execution of successful sales strategies for the Red Lion Inn event and banquet spaces. The Event Sales Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with the Event Production Team and Marketing Manager. This position involves personal involvement with all clients. In this role, you will drive the sales process. This position requires a driven, positive, innovative individual--45+ hours per week, including some evenings and weekends. Position Profile The Red Lion Inn Event Sales Manager will * Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets for the Red Lion Inn event space.. * Analyze sales performance data and financial reports to make informed decisions and adjustments to the sales strategy. * Generate new business through onsite visits, cold calling, community networking, curated and timely outreach on Wedding Pro and Zola web-based platforms, and other lead-generation sources. * Respond promptly to client inquiries, providing detailed information, proposals, and custom solutions. * Maintains accurate lead inquiry and sales reporting to present to the executive leadership team. * Conduct tours to showcase the Red Lion Inn event facilities and services. * Manages schedule for tours and trains the extended team on best practices for hosting tours on the property. * Collaborate with the executive leadership team to set sales goals and objectives aligned with the overall business strategy. * Manages proposal process and client bookings; troubleshoots contractual issues or client problems. * Conducted market research to identify sales growth opportunities and industry and local trends, and was apprised of competing venues' strategies. * Assist the sales and marketing team in developing customized event packages, pricing structures, seasonal incentives, and promotional offers. * Communicate and collaborate with internal departments, such as accounting, culinary, restaurant, banquet, marketing, and operations. * Assist and support the Production Team to ensure seamless execution of events, pre-event, onsite, and post-event. * Consistently and effectively communicates accurate event information to the Event Producer assigned. * Maintains accurate filing system for past, tentative, and upcoming events. Uses catering software and systems to their full potential. Keeps accurate records and details of all client transactions and correspondence. * Attend daily/weekly sales and BEO meetings to update the team on upcoming events. * Foster a collaborative and positive team culture that encourages creativity and proactive problem-solving. PREREQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in business, hospitality, or a related field. * 2 years of proven experience in event sales. * Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. * Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and achieve targets. * Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. * Proficiency in TripleSeat, Canva, Excel, Word, and Microsoft platforms. * Knowledge of Tripleseat is a bonus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Medium work where up to 50# of force is exerted occasionally and up to 20# of force frequently. 2. Activities include stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. Visual acuity is required.
