Full description of the position

Showroom and Sales Assistant The Front Counter position assists customers over the phone and in person by recommending equipment and accessories that best meets the customer's event needs and completes all paperwork associated with the rental. This position also assists with other duties as instructed by management. Nurture existing relationships and secure future business with cheerful phone demeanor. Enter new orders and completes updates on existing orders for customers. Meet with customers in our showroom to determine the event type and recommends appropriate rental equipment and accessories based on the customer's needs; shows the customer suggested equipment and table displays. Prepares rental contracts, reviews terms and conditions of the contract with the customers, obtains customer signatures and deposits. Updates the rental contract with customer changes, coordinates customer changes with fulfillment and delivery. Processes credit card payments. Arranges showroom displays, maintains clean showroom and keep shelves organized and stocked with rental equipment. Responsibilities * Answer telephone and process phone orders. * Responsible for assisting customers to plan small scale events. * Assist team members with projects. * Recommend rental equipment to customers that best meets their need. * Explain rental fees and provides information about rented items, such as operation or description. * Collect deposits and payments. * Maintain price quotes and rental reservations. * Update and call overdue list daily and alerts supervisor of overdue contracts. * Avoid overbooking by communicating with written and verbal details. * Provide event price estimates according to established procedures. * Accept delivery and in-store returns and placed in appropriate area for inspection. * Prepare contract and obtain signature and deposit. * Communicate all event details with internal staff to ensure a smooth event. * Produce a computer-generated layout of event, when required. * Follow up with client per company policy. * Maintain open communication with management and make recommendations for purchase of new inventory items. * Maintain Showroom, which can include the following: * Counter and floor behind counter. * Displays and merchandise in showroom. * Customer Restroom. * Showroom floor. * Basic Trash Removal. * Report safety violations to supervisor. * Fill in for other positions, when necessary, for smooth operation of the business. * Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form. * Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store. * Attend department, store and safety meetings. * Perform other duties as requested. Nature of the Work To plan small-scale events from planning to production stage. Recommend rental equipment and accessories to assist client in meeting their event needs. Communication the rental equipment and services contracted to all department managers to ensure all details of the event are covered. Working Conditions Most of the work will be done in general office conditions. Will be exposed to outside elements. Work is fast paced, demanding and very rewarding. Education, Skills & Requirements * Must maintain a professional personal appearance. * Must possess sales and customer relation skills. * Computer knowledge is preferred. Training on rental software will be provided. * Must be able to speak English clearly and write legibly. The ability to speak other languages is a plus. * Must maintain an acceptable attendance record. * Must be able to lift approximately 30 lbs. * Must have a full range of motion and dexterity. * Must be able to understand and follow instructions furnished in written, oral and scheduled form and pass them on to personnel. * Maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers.
