Job Summary: The Federal Sales Representative will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and securing new government clients--expanding Permuta's presence within untapped accounts and markets. This is a growth-focused role requiring a hunter's mindset and the ability to navigate long government sales cycles. You will be instrumental in building client relationships from the ground up and tailoring solutions that directly address mission-critical challenges in workforce and readiness management. This Role will report directly to the Vice President of Revenue and is a Key position within the Organization. Duties and Responsibilities: * New Business Development: Identify and engage prospective government clients, developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in net new accounts. * Greenfield Strategy Execution: Create and execute strategic account plans for newly identified opportunities within the government and defense sectors, including pipeline development, opportunity qualification, and stakeholder engagement. * Value-Based Selling: Conduct discovery and needs analysis with prospective clients. Engage in value-driven discussions that align Permuta's software solutions to the customer's unique mission needs. * Sales Process Ownership: Own the full sales cycle for greenfield accounts--from initial outreach and discovery through proposal, negotiation, and close. * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product, customer success, and engineering teams to shape solution offerings for early-stage clients, ensuring client requirements are anticipated and met. * Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activity, and government procurement initiatives to uncover and act on new opportunities. *Reporting & Forecasting: *Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, and status updates for new account opportunities. *Compliance & Delivery Coordination: *Ensure that all client engagements adhere to federal procurement guidelines and are aligned with Permuta's operational capabilities and timelines. * Work remotely, but up to 25% travel monthly. * Performs other duties as assigned. Education/Experience: * 6+ years of sales, business development, or key account experience in federal government or defense markets, with a focus on new logo acquisition or greenfield sales. * Proven track record of exceeding new business quotas and managing complex sales cycles within the public sector. * Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels. * Deep understanding of SaaS and cloud solutions such as the Microsoft Power Platform to include Power Apps, Power Pages, Power BI, and Microsoft's Azure for Government. Experience with Azure OpenAI Service for Government is also a plus. * Familiarity with government procurement cycles and contracting processes. * Skilled in consultative selling, negotiation, and building rapport with senior government stakeholders. * A track record of delivering client-centric solutions and managing multiple projects simultaneously with acute attention to detail. * Exceptional negotiation, listening, presentation, and communication skills. * Experience managing large account portfolios. * Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. * Highly organized and solution-oriented. * Proven Track Record of Collaboration: Demonstrate a history of successfully working in collaborative team environments where collective efforts contribute to achieving shared goals. * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Public Policy or related field. * Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. * Communicate clearly and concisely both orally and written. Security Requirements: * U.S. Citizen, must be able to obtain a security clearance. Desired Knowledge: * The ideal candidate would have a good understanding of the industry and applications as well as having a strategic and customer focused mindset. * Familiarity with low code/no code platforms, data integration solutions, and AI for government use cases. * Exposure to API and SaaS based technologies. * Knowledge of MEDDPIC. * Exposure to Department of Defense or civilian agency missions and readiness challenges. The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 to $155,000. With a compensation package. The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
