Full description of the position

Mahaska is accepting applications for a Sales Rep/Delivery Driver based out of our Des Moines, IA location

Sales experience preferred, but not required. If you are willing to learn, our experienced sales team can teach you skills you need to do the job.

Position: Sales Rep/Delivery Driver
We are looking for a competitive, self-motivated, reliable Sales Rep/Delivery Driver with a good positive attitude an the motivation and skill set to effectively service customer accounts. If you are passionate about customer service and enjoy having variety in your workday, this is an opportunity for you. As the Sales Rep/Delivery Driver, you will drop off, fill, rotate and merchandise beverage products at assigned accounts. Biweekly the sales rep is responsible for delivering and prospecting for new coffee accounts and growing current accounts the following week. The following biweekly accounts the sales rep is responsible for delivering to and growing our beer and non beer accounts .

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Driving a company truck to assigned accounts within a defined territory based upon a pre-determined route. (Examples of the types of accounts include restaurants, gas stations and smaller grocery stores)
  • Delivering beverages to the account, including stocking shelves and coolers accurately with a variety of bottled and canned products, as well as dropping off BIBs (boxed bags of syrup).
Representing Mahaska professionally in the community while establishing, developing and maintaining business relationships with current customers, and occasionally with prospective customers.
  • be able to go and talk with decision-makers to keep existing accounts and grow the route by adding new accounts and products along the way


Requirements include:

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Previous Sales experience.
  • Be able to go and talk with decision-makers to keep existing accounts and grow the route by adding new accounts and products along the way
  • Desire to obtain knowledge and a familiarity with all company products
  • Building productive long lasting relationships with customers
  • Demonstrate proficiency with technology, capable of learning to use a computer, handheld or IPad with reasonable instruction.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must have a valid drivers license and a good driving record.
  • Prefer applicants 21 years of age or older.
  • Be available and capable to perform the physical functions of the position, which include lifting and moving loads of up to 50 lbs manually and maneuvering a two-wheel cart with up to 200 lbs of product. May occasionally be required to deliver a keg weighing up to 165 lbs.
