As a Business Development Representative at Montgomery Logistics, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships with potential clients. In order to grow their book of business, the successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the logistics industry. In this position you will be backed by a strong customer service and leadership team and a fleet of 700 + flatbed assets to provide you with the opportunity to break down sales obstacles and close business twice as fast.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Solicit freight, negotiate rates, accept tenders, and enter data accurately into TMS
• Develop and cultivate strong relationships with your customer base to maximize freight opportunities.
• Analyze data, solve problems, and proactively seek opportunities to improve your customer's supply chains.
• Some travel may be required to meet with customers.
• Train and develop customer service representative to help facilitate book of business
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong people skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers
• Exceptional listening skills and inquisitive nature
• Superior time management skills, organizational skills, and unparalleled attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and effectively handle multiple accounts simultaneously. and ability to effectively negotiate, solve problems by offering creative solutions.
• Excellent leadership skills and ability to work with a team
• High school diploma, bachelor's degree preferred
• Understanding of current FMCSA Regulations and hours of service
• Existing & portable book of customers, preferred.
• Experience with McLeod TMS Software, preferred
• Proven track record of accurately rating and pricing truckload shipments.
• Experience with load boards - DAT, Truckstop, etc.
