Position Overview:
Solicits, books, plans and coordinates meetings/functions while maximizing the banquet space to meet/exceed sales goals. Assists with Delphi upgrades and maintenance, budget planning and forecasting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Solicits, negotiates and books new and repeat business through efforts (outside calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.) while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed goals.
2. Executes market segment strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue and meet/exceed sales goals.
3. Assists in supervision and training of Catering Coordinator.
4. Prepares status and period end reports to keep management abreast of activities. Prepares forecasts and critiques to support conclusions.
5. Works directly with Delphi to implement upgrades and maintain quality.
6. Develops budget and forecasting with DOC.
7. Performs special projects as assigned.

Education: Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License/Certification: N/A
Experience: Five to eight years of catering sales and service experience.
Basic Expectations: Drive new business into hotel. Manage and develop individual market. Must be able to handle and excel in both corporate and social markets. Yield catering event space to maximize revenues. Reach and exceed individual sales goal. Service catering accounts and build relationships for future events. Target and solicit new business.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manage/co-manage one subordinate supervisor in the Catering Sales Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from group managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
