RHW Hotels is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to lead a dynamic hotel and conference center team at the Hyatt Place Lenexa City Center. The hotel is at the center of the Lenexa City Center that boasts a 200-acre district that combines shopping, dining, entertainment, office, living and hotel space. Lenexa is one of the fastest growing communities in the greater Kansas City area.
As Director of Sales, you are responsible for selling hotel rooms along with meeting/event space, be the driving force for the Business Segment, marketing and advertising, while ensuring that revenue goals are met. The Director of Sales is also responsible for leading the sales team to help facilitate their success, as well as providing statistical reports relaying status of departmental performance.
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Director of Sales capacity. Preferred candidates will have experience as Director of Sales at a Hyatt property and/or Convention Center hotel and possess a high level of financial and business acumen. Exceptional leadership and communication skills are required, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office products and hospitality software. You will be the foundation of and model for a fun, positive, and optimistic leadership team focused on maximizing the sales efforts and financial return.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Contract guestrooms, meeting space and event space
- Market and sell the hotel and amenities
- Create marketing plans, quarterly and annually
- Hire / Train / Coach / Counsel / Terminate sales staff
- Represent hotel at designated functions
- Participate in local chamber of commerce and visitors bureau events
- Participate in local Lodging Association
- Organize client events
- Operate department within RHW Budgetary guidelines
- Ensure that sales staff has the supplies needed to sale the hotel
- Develop and design the advertising for the hotel
- Meet with clients and companies on a regular basis to ensure account saturation
- Maintain a good working relationship with competitor hotels
- Maintain all sales files in an orderly and usable manner
- Approve all negation strategies before being submitted to GM for finalization
Requirements:
3+ Years experience in a hotel or similar field as an Director of Sales or Convention center.
High School Diploma
Computer Proficiency
Experience Managing People
Available to work on call and accessible via cell phone/radio at all times unless otherwise excused
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree strongly preferred, particularly a degree in Hospitality Management

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $78,000.00 per year
