**Job Description:**
**Summary:**
The Used Vehicle Acquisitions Specialist is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and acquiring pre-owned vehicles to expand our inventory through our Vehicle Buying Center. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring we have a diverse and attractive selection of used vehicles available to meet customer needs. The successful candidate will have excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills and the ability to identify profitable opportunities.
The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist will reach out to customers who are looking to sell their vehicle privately and offer to have their vehicle professionally appraised and obtain a purchase offer. This will be done through 3rd party resources, the Service Department and Kelly Blue Book Buying Center Leads. The successful Vehicle Acquisitions specialist will receive a bonus on every vehicle purchased or referral to the Sales Department that results in a purchase.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Vehicle Sourcing:**
- Identify potential sources of used vehicles, including private sellers, auctions, trade-ins, and other dealerships.
- Build and maintain a network of reliable sources to ensure a steady supply of pre-owned vehicles.
2. **Negotiation and Pricing:**
- Negotiate purchase prices and terms with vehicle sellers to maximize profitability.
- Evaluate the market value of vehicles based on factors such as make, model, condition, and market demand.
3. **Vehicle Inspections:**
- Conduct thorough inspections of potential acquisitions to assess their condition and identify any necessary repairs or reconditioning.
4. **Documentation and Compliance:**
- Ensure all necessary paperwork, including titles and transfer documents, is complete and in compliance with legal requirements.
5. **Market Research:**
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to make informed decisions about acquisitions.
6. **Customer Relations:**
- Maintain positive relationships with potential and existing sellers to foster repeat business and referrals.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in business, automotive management, or a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in automotive sales, vehicle acquisitions, or a related field.
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of automotive market trends and values.
- Ability to assess the condition of used vehicles.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications, including MS Office and inventory management software.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
