El Cajon Jewelry and Loan is a pawnshop in the heart of El Cajon, serving clients for over 25 years, we loan on almost anything of value and strive to provide an honest, fair and safe customer experience. We are looking for the ideal candidate to provide exceptional service, fulfill daily in-store responsibilities, while always putting the customer first. El Cajon Jewelry and Loan is known as the peoples bank helping thousands of customers who dont qualify for a traditional bank account or prefer a fast confidential loan. We are also a full-service jewelry store offering custom jewelry, jewelry appraisals and more.s

Description of responsibilities:

Responsibilities include greeting customers in shop, answering phones, cash-handling, writing, and servicing loans, evaluating valuables, selling in person, inventory control and basic cleaning duties, as well as posting items to online platforms photographing and describing items and communicating with potential buyers.

These duties also include the elements of the pawn shop which entail testing and evaluating items, writing new loans and buys, processing rewrites and redemptions among other in-store duties.

Required experience:

Must be at least 18 years of age;

At least 2 years of retail sales experience preferably in the jewelry or pawn industry, or industries similar in customer service

Strong desire to work successfully as part of a team and to serve and work with customers;

High energy and welcoming sales personality with detail orientated and strong organizational skills

Ability to work independently and understand time-management

MUST have the ability to work a retail schedule which include a five day work week Monday-Friday 9:30 to 6 with flexibility on Saturdays Open availability is a plus! We are open 6 days a week

Computer literate and able to perform basic POS and CRM system and perform basic internet research and knowledge

Must be able to pass a background check

Spanish is a PLUS but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
