Precision Optical Technologies is a system engineering and integration company focused on optical transceivers and related active/passive optical components. From first point of contact through network replication and system testing, our expert engineers work closely with you to identify potential problems and, ultimately, solutions. We are searching for an driven, experienced Director of Sales.
This individual will be responsible for selling optical transceivers and related active/passive optical components. This role requires driving sales opportunities for the organization through a variety of direct marketing and sales techniques. Including but not limited to; cold calling into assigned Enterprise prospect companies to gather information and qualify leads, perform detailed market research/analysis, conduct sales presentations, manage a sales pipeline [please apply online] and actively manage existing Enterprise clients. This role will be remote within the United States.
Essential Functions:
- Direct business to business sales activities, with responsibility for the entire sales cycle, Including:
- Prospect research, lead qualification, customer presentation, closing opportunities, and on-going client management
- Development of long-term relationships with customers based on exceptional customer service, quality and responsiveness
- Perform daily CRM updates on lead statuses, management of new opportunities, and updated information on existing customers
- Identify opportunities for new business within targeted Enterprise prospects of the company
- Cold calling senior executives and key decision makers within targeted prospects
- Conduct sales calls with senior executives and decision makers at targeted prospects
- Account management and sales administration duties for existing customers as required
- Report progress on collection of market research and prospect information
- Record, monitor and report sales activity using [please apply online] Travel up to 50%

Skills / Qualifications (Competencies):
- Must possess a strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs
- Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on currently deployed platforms, systems and processes.
- In-depth understanding of sales performance metrics
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to take a process-oriented approach to problem solving.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, handle & prioritize simultaneous requests, and manage laterally and upwards
- Must demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Lead by example. Identify current or potential problems, take ownership and see them through to resolution.
- Act as a unified team. Possess strong interpersonal skills including the ability to proactively communicate with and help others, within and across departments.
- Ability to work independently. Seek and incorporate feedback on your performance from management, coworkers and clients.
Education & Experience:
- Familiarity with common optical transport, routing and switching platforms
- Knowledge of optical transceivers
- Proven success with strategic relationships with Tier 1 Telcos and MSOs
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration or relevant field
- 3 or more years of related work experience
- A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex business requirements
- Hands on experience with Salesforce CRM solution and MS suite of product
