Full description of the position

LAYCO Electric Innovations, a rapidly expanding $40M equipment manufacturer & service center headquartered in Tulsa, OK is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Sales - Industrial Service & Repair. To the successful candidate we offer a competitive compensation package that includes a base salary + commissions, company paid health insurance, 9 paid holidays, a 401K plan and much more

Overview

This position is responsible for sales to existing accounts but will also be expected to grow business by regularly prospecting and networking while promptly handling customer complaints by finding solutions to their issues that maintains a positive relationship between both parties.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exceptional communication skills combined with self-driven organization is a must.
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical products (electric motors and/or pumps) is a plus.
  • 5 years experience selling MRO products & services to the local industrial markets.
  • Positive attitude is essential.
  • Independent but a team player
  • Ability to assess the customers needs & recommend appropriate services.
  • Assist not just existing customers but identify and create new customers a hunter!

Work Performed

  • Plan sales work on a long-term basis by setting a yearly quota of calls to make on each account that is proportional to the potential of the account.
  • Begin work every Monday morning by having prepared a list of sales calls to make each day of that week.
  • Plan calls geographically to minimize the unproductive time spent on driving.
  • Actively sell services and products using specific, well thought out presentations.
  • Do as much active selling and make as many customer contacts as possible between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, saving indirect (correspondence, planning, reporting, etc.) sales activities for other times.
  • Follow up on assigned sales leads promptly.
  • Be active and positive in selling the companys complete line of products and service at predetermined levels. Any price deviations, if required, must have prior approval of the sales manager.
  • Keep personal customer account information up-to-date and legible. Make sure names and addresses are accurate.
  • Promptly investigate and resolve customer complaints to the best of your ability. Company policy dictates prompt and complete satisfaction to the customer in every case where the complaint is legitimate and justified.
  • Keep accurate records of travel, mileage, and sales-related expenses. Profitability improves when expenses are kept at reasonable levels.
  • Follow-up on all written quotations to show customers that the company values their business.
  • Understand all company sales and credit policies following all procedures to the best of their knowledge.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of each service, product, and application to recognize quickly which ones can benefit each customer.
  • Gain product knowledge through catalogs, sales bulletins, sales meetings, night schools, factory schools, personal experiences etc.

Qualifications

  • Professional experience in sales or customer service role
  • Ability to multitask and juggle several responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Education

  • Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience.
