Job Description

I. TITLE OF JOB: Family Advisor

II. REPORTS TO: Executive Director and Mainstay CMO

III. HEADQUARTER: Community

IV. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

A. EDUCATION

It is required that the Family Advisor Director has a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalency. It is preferred that the Family Advisor has a minimum of a degree in marketing or business.

B. EXPERIENCE

It is preferred that the Family Advisor has two years experience working as a Family Advisor or other position closely related to this field preferably with a hospital or long term care community.

C. SKILLS REQUIRED

1. Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathering and analyzing information skillfully to develop alternative solutions both alone and with groups while using reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

2. Analytical: Collects and researches data and synthesizes complex or diverse information.

3. Customer Service: Manages difficult or emotional residents, family members, and employee situations, responding promptly to their request for service and assistance, while soliciting feedback to improved service insuring that commitments are met.

4. Interpersonal: Focuses on solving conflict and not blaming. Maintains confidentiality. Listens to others without interrupting and keeps emotions under control. Remains open to others ideas and tries new things.

5. Oral Communication: Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens carefully and gets clarification. Responds well to questions.

6. Team Work: Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting objectively and openness to others views. Contributes to building a positive team spirit.

7. Planning and Time Utilization: Consistently plans/coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency without sacrificing quality, accuracy and customer service. Meets deadlines in completing job assignments and special projects.

8. Computer Skills: Literate in Word and Excel, as well as in basic (Window) environment and downloading reports.

9. Written Skills: Writes clearly and informatively; edits work for spelling and grammar; varies writing style to meet needs; presents numerical data effectively; and is able to read and interpret written information.
V. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Family Advisor include overall design and implementation of all marketing programs. Responsibilities will include but not limited to training, and development and placement, collateral development, monitoring and development of all community programs, all which designed to provide each community with all the tools and support to maintain above average occupancy goals.

VI. FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

1. Develop an overview of the company marketing programs by working, overseeing or observing all community marketing efforts.

  • Implement company marketing policies and procedures and assure compliance by Executive Director.
  • Assist in hiring, training, motivation, supervising and evaluate each directors role in marketing.
  • Implement any company disciplinary policies and procedures that are appropriate.
  • Ensure that the Community meets company-established marketing standards.
  • Assure that established marketing budget guidelines for each Community are maintained through the development, implementation and monitoring of budget control and cost containment programs.
  • Develop internal Community marketing policies and procedures, and other matters consistent with company philosophy, policies and budget.
  • Review building and grounds through supervision of preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure a good first impression.
  • Participate individually and in teamwork activities in striving for quality services, resident care, job performance, etc.
  • Maintain privacy and confidentiality of records, conditions and the information relating to residents, employees and the Community.
  • Solicit, review, intervene and report complaints and grievances made by residents, families, visitors, agencies, etc. to the Executive Director.
  • Establish and encourage an atmosphere of optimism, warmth and interest in residents personal and health care needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Provide leadership skills that foster enthusiasm to market and sell our products.
  • Ensure that marketing plans are being implemented.
  • Monitor daily census reports to determine needs of each community.
  • Conduct appropriate community visits based on needs.
  • Develop and provide an effective sales program.
