Full description of the position

Job Title: Business Developer

As a Business Developer focusing on the Federal Government sector at Angel Staffing, you will play a pivotal role in establishing, implementing, and maintaining business development direction and goals. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, including identifying potential business opportunities, driving growth strategies, and promoting Angel Staffing's capabilities to the assigned client group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development Strategy: Establish, implement, and maintain business development direction and goals that align with Angel Staffing's overarching strategic objectives.
  • Opportunity Identification: Identify and qualify new business opportunities within the federal government domain, with a specific emphasis on the Department of Defense (DoD) professional services market space.
  • Capture Strategy Development: Devise and execute opportunity capture strategies, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of the Shipley capture and proposal processes to enhance success rates.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and win rate analysis to evaluate new markets, formulate initiatives, and assess emerging business prospects.
  • Growth Initiatives: Define and drive growth initiatives through strategic customer interactions, technical differentiation, and innovative contracting solution strategies.
  • Financial Analysis: Provide insightful financial analysis, scenario planning, and forecasting to facilitate informed decision-making and optimize opportunity pursuit.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate agreements and contracts with potential clients, ensuring advantageous terms for Angel Staffing while fostering mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Establish seamless communication channels with support areas and operational teams to ensure efficient project execution and contract fulfillment.
  • Promotion of Capabilities: Actively promote Angel Staffing's capabilities to assigned client groups and cultivate strong relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
  • Proposal Management Support: Collaborate closely with proposal teams, serving as the capture subject matter expert (SME) and facilitating effective communication across proposal volumes/sections.
  • Data Management: Disseminate data calls and organize essential proposal inputs with meticulous attention to detail and organizational proficiency.
  • On-Contract Growth: Develop strategic call plans to showcase Angel Staffing's capabilities and identify opportunities for sustained on-contract growth.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree in business or a related field and 5-10 years of experience in federal government business development, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong relationship-building and business development skills.
  • Past experience in HHS, CDC, or NIH is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated success in managing all types of government contracts and capture strategies.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of GSA, 8(a), and Full & Open Government procurements, including Micro Services.

Key First-Year Objectives:

  • Develop a business development strategy to engage the identified target list within the assigned region.
  • Generate pipelines and qualify at least 15 opportunities per year, aiming to close 4-6 deals annually.
  • Optimize internal relationships with sales support and Account Management teams to facilitate business growth.
