Job Description: Sales Engineer

Reports to: Director of Sales Engineer

Position Summary:
A Sales Engineer is a sales professional who specializes in understanding all the technical aspects of the product line and explaining them to the sales team and potential consumers. Their duties include consulting on projects, product development, as well as explaining product features to customers during live demonstrations and training.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate with the sales team to understand customer demands and offer sales support where necessary.
Review and comprehending product specifications to ensure equipment meets the system requirements.
Help Sales team secure orders.
Prepare and give technical presentations to customers about how the products work.
Establish customer rapport and acceptance.
Plan for modifications to products to meet customer demands.
Create new and improved products for the customers.
Provide Customer training.
Support Engineering department.
Other duties as assigned
Competences, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelors degree in engineering from an accredited university (ABET), required (Electrical Engineering preferred)
2+ years of experience in a similar position (preferred). Power Generation and/or Energy Storage technical background a plus.
Medium-expert level computer proficiency in software (Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, Power Point, Inventor, AutoCAD, etc.)
Ability to accurately enter data, generate reports, analytical problem-solving skills.
Willingness and ability to travel 10-25% of the time.
Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills (bilingual English/Spanish, a plus).
Ability to work as a team.
Excellent Organization and Time Management Skills
Ability to work in a high-stress sales environment and multi-task.
Self-Confidence to support persuasion and sales efforts
Presentation skills and ability to convey product value.

Required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for long periods of time; frequently move around workstation/area and production floor, using PPE all the time; position self to access different areas and angles of the product being assembled, to include stooping, bending, and crouching.
Lifts, pushes/pulls, carries, or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 20 lbs. on a regular basis. May have to move object from one location to another.
Stands for long periods of hours.
Frequently use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms to operate equipment and install components or move parts/equipment.
- Visual acuity is necessary to do the job safely and effectively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision work to perform inspections and in reading schematics, specifications, and instructions.
- Must be able to identify, prioritize, and meet multiple expectations for area of responsibility.
Work Environment:
This position works primarily in an office and occasionally in a non-air-conditioned/heated warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the work week. Requires activities involving being around moving machinery, exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and some exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and gases.
