Description
PlanMember is seeking a new member to join our Financial Services Sales Supervision Principal team (Suitability).
As our Sales Supervision Home Office Principal, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, helping the organization achieve its financial goals while minimizing organizational risks. The ideal candidate needs a dep understanding of financial industry standards and principal review standards for various broker/dealer products and account types. They think independently and challenge the opinions of others in a professional manner, possess clear and concise communication skills, effective time management skills, work effectively with team members, are resilient and adaptable to change and provide creative solutions to complex problems when necessary.
Salary Range:
Starting salary is typically between $65,000 and $75,000 annually, however, it is ultimately determined by the scope of the position the candidates relevant experience, and internal equity. Location Information: On-Site at our Carpinteria, CA Headquarters if you live within a 40 mile radius. If you are outside the area, remote would be a consideration.
Responsibilities
As our Sales Supervision Home Office Principal, you will be responsible for performing sales review for: proprietary products; trade blotters; trade tickets; MF, VA, REIT, VUL, UIT, REIT, FA, FIA and other internal and external products. You will also be expected to answer internal questions on paperwork submission and workflow, and help with the preparation of management reports, training and development plans.
You will be required to keep current and up to date on various internal and external products. You will need to document and implement changes to FINRA rules and regulations to the principal review process. All Home Office Principals are required to complete periodic and ad-hoc projects as needed.
This position is considered an essential role day 1, meaning employees in this role must be able to perform their responsibilities remotely as deemed applicable and necessary by your manager and the Company without a lapse of time should a business continuity situation arise e.g., COVID-19 Pandemic
Responsibilities Include:
- Transactional Processing:
a. Review new, existing and internal transactions and ensure that they are completed accurately and in compliance with established SOPs.
b. Verify the accuracy of documents and communicate needed deficiencies.
c. Timely and relevant escalation of review questions to senior team members prior to completion.
d. Proper documentation of approved, rejected or declined reasoning.
e. Identify, propose and implement paperwork and workflow changes to ensure process efficiency.
- Reporting, Documentation and Record Keeping:
a. Provide necessary data for operational reports to senior team members.
b. Maintain and organize document records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
c. Generation of management reports for management review.
- Client Service & Support:
a. Provide support to internal and external customers regarding departmental inquiries and requests.
b. Ensure quality client service by addressing inquiries promptly and professionally, escalating complex issues to senior team members when necessary.
c. Propose client centric changes to current policies & procedures.
- Department and Regulatory Compliance:
a. Ensure compliance with relevant FINRA regulations, company and department policies.
b. Ensure SOPs are relevant and updated.
c. Assist in the compilation of documentation for audits and regulatory reviews as needed.
d. Identify sales trends and promptly report them through proper channels.
- Process Improvement & Risk Management:
a. Propose & implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in departments financial operations.
b. Meaningful participation in team discussions to implement best practices.
c. Identify and report potential risks in departments financial transactions and operations.
d. Propose & implement process improvements.
- Team Collaboration, Training and Leadership:
a. Mentor team members.
b. Identify team development opportunities and collaborate implementation with management.
c. Collaborate effectively with internal and external colleagues to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
d. Assist in the training and onboarding of new representatives and team members.
e. Call representatives to discuss escalated review objectives are clear and understood
- Projects:
a. Complete organizational projects and initiatives.
b. Propose projects to senior staff and management.
c. Initiate projects and play a primary role in completion.
- Department Specific Responsibilities Sales Supervision Principal
- Conduct daily review of new and existing business through our Order Entry System.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes as it pertains to product/paperwork review; know your client, anti-money laundering and all applicable FINRA rules & regulations.
- Pershing relationship management including review of new account applications and daily trade blotter.
- Update Standard Operating Procedures.
- Conduct training of new representatives.
- Conduct training of new employees.
- Complete Management reporting.
- Conduct training plan management.
- Create Employee Development plans.
- Call PlanMember representatives regarding escalated review deficiencies
- Initiate and complete multi-tiered ad-hoc, and periodic projects.
- Participate in yearly IRS Tax Reporting Project.

Education
