About us

Beanstalk Children's Resale is a locally woman owned business in resale retail of children's clothes, shoes, toys and more in Portland, OR. We are customer-centric, teamwork oriented and our goal is to foster a healthy work culture while serving our customers with the busy and enjoyable days of children's consignment/resale.

Do you have an outgoing personality, love the magic of resale, have attention for detail and have great typing skills? We are looking for a Retail Sales Associate to join us at our SE Montavilla team as well as our NE Fremont team. A sales associate provides exceptional customer service to our customers as well as daily inventory processing that includes hanging, steaming, photographing and putting inventory on our sales floor.

The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to customer inquiries, providing accurate information, ensuring customer satisfaction, learning all the hands-on processes of reselling, consigning, prepping, posting and basic pricing children's items for resale! The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, an ability to stay organized & focused, be savvy with social posts/stories/reels, attentive to details, quick and accurate typing skills, a positive can-do attitude and a commitment to providing the highest level of customer service.

Qualifications:

• Have a minimum of 1+ years working in a customer service position
• Like working with people in customer service as well as with co-workers
• Basic POS (point of sale) and computer/keyboard experience

Duties: Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Ensuring every customer is verbally greeted, is made to feel welcome and is provided great customer service
• Supporting your co-workers for the daily tasks at hand and the sales floor
• Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
• Preparing inventory for our sales floor
• General store operations: Customers, answering phones & emails, using the register, receiving and processing inventory.
• Thrive working with others in a retail environment
• Be open and adaptable to the constant changes in a retail environment
• Seek to be an example to others
• Be proficient and support the daily operations of a store
• Be a curious problem-solver
• Value sustainability in the form of recycling, repurpose, resale, resourceful and reuse

Hours:

• 4-5 days a week including weekend
• PT hours are 20-28 hrs per week
• FT hours are 30 - 40 hrs per week

Applicant must be able to:

• Work both weekend days
• Type proficiently on a keyboard for speed and accuracy
• Be on your feet for up to 8 hours
• Lift up to 40 lbs (occasionally we have some heavier gear and bins of clothes
• Easy ability to get to work at our SE location
• Be a reliable and dependable co-worker
