Role Summary: A Sales Support Specialist is a customer-focused professional responsible for supporting the sales team to achieve their business development and revenue goals. By overseeing CRM databases, processing orders and sample requests, and managing communication, this position ensures an effective and efficient sales department.
Job Responsibilities
- Helps sales staff generate and process new sales leads
- Performs administrative duties including writing orders, managing correspondence, filing reports, and preparing samples and literature
- Troubleshoots problems with orders, customer accounts and related issues
- Monitor sales performance through sales tracking tools and report progress to sales representatives
- Work with account managers to create and implement targeted sales strategies
- Manage Big Box sales process: includes compliance with Home Depot and Lowes online order processes.
- Meets with other departments (purchasing, logistics) to ensure orders are processed correctly
- Provides any necessary data or reports to the sales team and ownership
- Arranges appointments with clients and sales team
Minimum Job Qualifications
- High school diploma is required but an Associate or bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field is preferred
- One to three years related experience is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in computer software systems including MS Office and MS Excel
- Working knowledge of customer relationship management software and data analysis
- Able to work with others as well as independently
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills and dedication to customer satisfaction
- Excellent time management, organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Knowledge of sales practices and the most customer service principles
- Ability to interpret sales metrics and perform data entry
- Strong attention to detail

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed onsite at a company store and related outside yard and warehouses. Work environment varies as this position often requires time spent indoors at the store seated at a computer, or outside in the elements assisting employees and customers in the yard and warehouse.
