Medicare Direct Sales Agent
Overview
The Direct Sales Agent position will counsel, educate and enroll Medicare-eligible people into appropriate plans for their circumstances and preferences. This position has unique advantages including:
- Sourcing the majority of leads from time at kiosks on-property at Henry Ford Health System
- A salary plus commission/bonus pay structure
- Access to health system providers in order to create and maintain referral relationships
Duties
- Execute lead-building kiosk shifts on-property at Henry Ford Health System locations
- Enroll beneficiaries in represented health plans
- Conduct educational and sales events like seminars and webinars
- Work alongside HAP Captive Agents
- Meet and exceed set enrollment goals for both AEP and calendar year time periods
- Building and maintaining productive relationships with community organizations and providers/provider offices.
- Understanding and conveying CMS federal and state guidelines and requirements ensuring compliance in all selling situations.
- Conducting extensive field activities including public MA events, home visits, community organization meetings and other activities that grow public awareness to maximize enrollment opportunity.
- Participating in all MA launch activities including educational events, presentations, distributing approved marketing materials, etc.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
- Related and relevant experience or a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered in lieu of academic requirements
Experience
- Five (5) years of Sales experience and/or account management; some Medicare experience preferred
- One (1) year of previous marketing, public relations, or customer service experience preferred
- Previous experience in or knowledge of the Medicare or Senior market preferred
- Related training or academic coursework, or a demonstrated ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered in lieu of previous experience

- General knowledge of medical insurance programs, policies and procedures, underwriting/rating systems, billing and claims procedures is preferred
- Detailed knowledge of Medicare products
Other
- Must possess and maintain (1) a valid Michigan driver's license and (2) a driving record that meets the criteria specified through Medicare Concierge Services
- Must have, or obtain within 90 days, Michigan Health & Life Insurance license, pass all CMS regulated Medicare and Fraud, Waste & Abuse training and testing, and become certified to sell multiple health plans senior products.
