Job Description

Seeking a full-time or part-time sales associate. The successful candidate will be able to communicate clearly with our guests as they answer questions and generate sales of general merchandise. We're looking for a problem-solver, who is comfortable talking with others, and who can answer questions and resolve concerns in a genuine, respectful and cheerful way. Candidate must be able to multi task and function effectively in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must be able to safely lift and carry merchandise. This position requires indoor work with some heavy lifting. Also requires the loading/unloading of items, some store and merchandise cleaning, and successful completion of various on-line sales and product training courses.

Major Responsibilities for this position include:
Sell, demonstrate, and order merchandise.
Ensure each guest receives outstanding service and sales assistance throughout the store
Execute daily operational tasks using priorities assigned by store management
Participate in the processing of new shipments and keep the receiving and service area clean and organized
Responsive to safety issues and uses protective equipment as necessary
Answer customers' questions and resolve or escalate customer concerns to management as needed.

Minimum Requirements
High School degree or GED required plus some college or trade school preferred.
Previous sales or service experience in a retail hardware store preferred.
Knowledge of retail computer systems, parts lookup and diagnostic tools preferred.
A commitment to service excellence, attention to detail and legible handwriting
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including most weekends to meet the needs of the business.
Ability and willingness to complete online training modules and certifications.

Additional Info
Candidate must be customer service oriented, must able to lift at least 50 lbs., and be able to work on their feet for at least 5-6 hours. Candidate must have reliable transportation. Must be at least 21 years old. Bi-lingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates preferred. Must have computer experience and the ability to use a computer keyboard to perform the requirements of the job.
