JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) will be responsible for overseeing the sales evolution of mid-market clients (1M – 50M) with the objective of maximizing revenue, maintaining and building relationships. ASM will manage a team from 3 to 6 people with different roles: KAMs, SAMs. Area Sales Managers will be dedicating more of their time to coaching and upskilling their team on business and soft skills during 1-on-1 sessions and ride-alongs. ASM will interact with key commercial contacts at networks in order to secure commercial success on a regular basis and be a support to the Head of Sales on creation of business cases and internal strategies.
Main objectives:
  • Achieve KPIs and enablers for the region.
  • Growth in terms of OM$ and profitability through proactive management of the team
  • Ensure career development and upskilling of their team.
  • Drive covered-markets wide initiatives through individual commitments.
  • Deep dive sales review to drive portfolio performance and coach their team on sales competencies during client visits.
  • Connect on the most pressing market initiatives and align on next steps to capture near-term sales opportunities
  • Remove internal blockers and support with international business cases and region planning
Accountabilities:
  • Create a market strategy and have a plan for top clients and top issues/opportunities within the region
  • Team upskilling and coaching
  • Rise along - Accompany team in account planning, visit preparation and client visits, keeping an observing attitude.
  • Mentor the KAM/SAM in both business and soft skills according to each person´s need
  • 1-on-1 sessions and results review: discuss portfolio performance, strategy and next steps, coaching on selling skills and visit scheduling for next week
  • Create relationships with clients upper management to craft business deals and unlock gate keepers the team may be having difficulties with.
  • Data Analysis and admin (bookings, internal reporting, interactions with other departments….) & using those for internal business cases.
Skills:
  • Fluent English and Spanish.
  • Solid knowledge of Sales and Account Management in the wholesaler segment
  • Excellent communication.
  • High degree of interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact with senior executives.
  • Dynamic, outgoing personality and self-motivated.
  • Creative with high degree of customer focus and results oriented.
Experience:
  • Degree on Tourism, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Sciences, Law
  • Accredited experience in Sales or Business Development
  • Minimum of 5-10 years sales experience in the travel industry
  • Company’s experienced (highly desired)
  • Excellent computer literacy and basic understanding of some technical solutions used by sales companies (especially Tableau and Sales)
Qualifications:
  • Strong literacy and understanding technical solutions used by the travel trade.
  • Experience in data analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft skills
