Business Development & Inside Sales - Capital Equipment & Industrial Automation - You must have experience successfully prospecting, qualifying inbound leads, and managing and nurturing many contacts for enterprise-level complex sales. All candidates must successfully complete a screening assessment in order to be considered.
AZO sells super-premium complex engineered systems to senior management at F1000, multinational CPG companies, EDCs, and executives at middle-market privately held food manufacturers. Our industry is highly competitive, and traditionally sell cycles are long and complex with a focus on technical specs and requirements. Our field sales engineers work with prospects and customers to close defined and qualified projects. Often those projects take months or years to develop after initial contact. We know we’re missing undiscovered projects because our sales engineers don’t have the bandwidth to nurture our full contact database and to handle technical/business discovery to uncover unrecognized prospect needs.
We have also invested significantly in digital inbound marketing and have a strong flow of leads to be nurtured and then transitioned to a sales engineer at the appropriate time. Further, we’ve invested in a strong sales tech stack to support your efforts.
This role will straddle business development and sales in our new machine and aftermarket sales departments. Responsibilities include:
- SDR - developing inbound leads for engineered systems sales, reporting to a Sales Manager
- BDR - outbound Target Account prospecting, reporting to a Sales Manager
- Inside sales - developing and closing deals for individual machines, reporting to Customer Service Manager
- New system parts kits - selling large spare parts kits to accompany new system start-ups, reporting to Customer Service Manager
We’re looking for someone special! A strong inside and inbound sales candidate who’s comfortable with large ticket complex sales, mechanical equipment and engineered systems, and fearless in lead follow-up and prospecting. And we expect that person will be able to speak confidently with engineers about the details of the manufacturing processes and operations and able to ask insightful questions to uncover opportunities.
The successful candidate must have strong skills in communication, time management, and sales, and a growth mindset to embrace and achieve success across these areas of responsibility. You’ll also be comfortable with a combined direct and dotted line reporting structure.
Compensation starts at $65,000. Additionally, we pay a quarterly bonus based on achievement of KPIs for qualified meetings booked and system opportunities created. Commission will be paid on closed/won individual machine and parts kits sales.
You will ideally work in our Memphis headquarters. Some remote work can be explored based on demonstrated success
