Title: Territorial Sales Representative
Job Summary:
A Territorial Sales Representative is responsible for calling on prospective and existing customers, establishing and maintaining relationships, selling the complete Point Spring product and service offering, increasing market share, maximizing profits and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
Planning
- Responsible for analyzing territory potential.
- Responsible for identifying prospective and existing customers and classifying accounts.
- Plans territory coverage to maximize selling time. Time management.
- Plans long run sales and service programs.
- Develops strategic sales plans.
Organizing
- Develop and maintain a customer mailing list, customer files and a follow-up system.
- Determine the call frequency for each account and make sales calls based on potential.
- Work with the branch manager and sales manager to develop an efficient customer delivery service.
- Develop an efficient and effective working relationship with the inside salesmen.
- Develop an efficient and effective working relationship with the delivery drivers.
Duties:
- Sells ALL product lines.
- Sells ALL PSD services.
- Knows and follows all company policies and procedures
- Knows the territory and the needs of each individual customer.
- Sells self, company and products to maintain and increase gross profit.
- Handles customer complaints, claims and credits promptly.
- Completes all paperwork required.
- Helps load and unload merchandise (including cores).
- Helps customers solve problems.
- Provides customers with current literature and pricing.
- Maintains neat, professional appearance.
- Keeps company vehicle maintenance up to date.
- Keeps work area including the company vehicle clean.
- Promotes safety in all aspects of the job.
- Attends and promotes to customers all sales and training functions provided by company.
- Attends training schools provided by manufacturers as required.
- Communicates and reports on competitive activity.
- Helps suggest and evaluate new products and services.
- Performs other duties as required or as assigned.
- Replies to all email correspondence promptly
- Maintains a high level of communication with branch manager, inside sales, delivery, customers and PSD Corporate.
Controlling
- Monitors sales against quotas and sales goals.
- Monitors and follows up on customer backorder reports daily.
- Monitors customer price exception files.
- Studies sales history reports to identify opportunities and trends that could affect sales and profits.
- Reviews aging reports and handles or assists in collections.
- Protects company assets and reduces costs by properly handling claims and credits and by controlling sales expenses.
- Reviews sales reports with Branch Manager monthly.
- Updates customer vocation codes, business types, priority codes and contact information in the customer file on the business system.
Overall Accountability
The Territorial Sales Representative manages their territory to achieve company sales and profit objectives. Reports directly to VP of Sales & Marketing and Indirectly to Branch Manager
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
