The Opportunity
Currently seeking a manufacturing professional to fill the role of Inside Sales Specialist, responsible for delivering best in class customer service and employing effective sales strategies. Utilize product knowledge for the applicable business units by addressing customer inquiries, creating quotations, processing orders and finding efficiencies within the product lines. This position reports directly to the Product Manager(s) for Small Appliance, Industrial and/or Wind products.

Schunk Carbon Technology is a manufacturer of electrical assemblies and components used in a wide variety of electrical and mechanical applications. We are in Menomonee Falls and have 90 employees. Qualifications (Expertise in Discipline)
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in customer service, sales support and/or inside sales experience within a manufacturing environment.
- 4-year college degree in a technical field or business-sales/marketing preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional-strength interpersonal skills to maintain healthy relationships with customer base.
- Proficient in Office 365; exposure to SAP and CRM systems preferred.
- Ability to read simple blueprints; experience reviewing BOMs.
- General aptitude and attitude to learn new concepts.
- Occasional overnight travel for customer relations or training, including possible travel in Europe.
- English fluency; German or Spanish language ability very helpful
Essential Job Functions (Job-Specific Knowledge/Skills)- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers, ensuring the best possible customer satisfaction through analysis of product performance and standardization.
- Examine and respond to all customer inquiries, quote requests and complaints.
- Phone and email customer contact for quote follow up.
- Make recommendations regarding or may lead product improvements and efficiency projects.
- Enter order data into SAP and other systems to create and maintain the product line database, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide inside and outside sales support as determined by the product manager.
- Coordinate customer requests with manufacturing’s capabilities/capacities.
- Review job related information from drawings and BOMs.
- Ensure lead/shipping times for manufacturing materials from outside suppliers and inter-company partners are properly planned, communicated, and monitored for changes/delays.
- Provide customers with technical/applications support for assigned product lines.
- Coordinate special projects identified by the product manager.
- Prepare all assigned reports and correspondence accurately and on time.
Development Summary
The Inside Sales Specialist position requires a specific set of skills that would need to be refined through a comprehensive training program within Schunk. The success of the position is dependent on the applicant gaining an understanding of many aspects of the manufacturing processes within our business units, the product marketplace, technical features of the product line, the Schunk business system structure and how these elements all interact.
