Area sales manager California
THE JOB
In this position you’re responsible for realizing sales and for managing our local representations in California. Following tasks fall under your responsibility:
- You look after the different states; California, Nevada & Arizona. Within this region you’re responsible for growing the client network, from the existing customer base till expanding the application in different food related markets. You follow up on leads, created by yourself, exibitions or through our local representation network.
- Our agents deliver leads and you work together with them to close a project. You follow up installations in corporation with our after sales department.
- You visit customers in your area, you prepare offers and negotiate contracts. Afterwards you follow up to ensure your long-term relationship with the customer. If things don’t run smooth you review them and take it up with the right internal department (mostly service or R&D)
- In cooperation with our agents you put together a forecast (yearly and monthly) and you monitor closely if the forecast will be achieved or not. If not, you adjust where necessary. Together with the agents, you set up a plan and you’re also responsible for tracking their results and for their yearly evaluation
- You organize, execute and report demo’s and tests for our customers. For this, you work closely with our test & demo engineer at our demo center in Turlock. Furthermore you actively take part in congresses and fairs in your area and you assists in building the stand.
- You keep track of what is going on in the market/in your region so we can, pro-actively, respond to the needs of customers and prospects. Together with the CSO you determine strategies to enhance our revenue
- You have 6 sales colleagues and report to the CSO
YOUR PROFILE
- Work location: California area, preferable close to Turlock
- Experience level: 3 to 5 years’ experience in B2B sales (long term sales cyclus) and in machinery
- Diploma: bachelors’ thinking level
- Hours: dayshift ; fulltime employment (40 hours/week)
- Languages: English. Spanish is a plus
- PC knowledege: MS Office. Our CRM system is Teamleader but no experience necessary
- Personality: your sales style is characterized by active listening, client centered thinking, focus on long term relationships, fast responses and clear and open communication
