Sales Manager / Sales Assistant [please apply online] (Export & Import) Trading Company

Job location: Torrance, California (Please note, that this is NOT a remote position. The hiring company is located at Torrance, CA.)

Relocation support: Negotiable if necessary.

Our client is a well-established Japanese (export and import) trading company which has many branches throughout the US. We are currently looking for an experienced B2B sales rep who can sell steel (mainly raw material) for your client in Torrance, CA. The job title could be Sales Manager or Assistant Sales Manager, depending on the candidate’s B2B sales experience.

An ideal candidate is an aggressive sales rep who can sell steel independently, but yet is a team player to work with the other employees in the company.

Some of the minimum qualification requirements:

• 3+ years of sales experience in a related field.
• General knowledge of the (export and import) trading business and logistics.
• Able to use MS Excel and PowerPoint.
• Great presentation skills in English. If you can speak Japanese, that’s a plus.
• A valid US driver’s license and a car. (Note: There is no public transportation near the facilities.)
• Able to travel for business about 5 to 10% of the time in West Coast.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented. Great multi-tasking skills. Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle.
• A college dergee.
• Authorized to work in the US permanently without a visa sponsorship.
• Able to start in 2 weeks once you receive a job offer.

Some of the main responsibilities:

• Sell steel (mainly raw material.) The hiring company is a trading company. It also sells various kinds of steel products (HR, CR, GI, Plates, Stainless Steel, etc.)
• Give presentations to customers.
• Visit customers in West Coast. (about 5 to 10% of the time.)
• Maintain great business relationships with existing customers and obtain new businesses.
• Develop new accounts in the steel sector. Arrange business meetings with prospective clients. Establish long-term business relationships with them.
• Manage an entire sales cycle, and communicate with the sales support team to monitor invoice, import/export documentations, credit limits, and etc..
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Conduct research to identify customers’ needs and new market trends.

Compensation: $60,000 to $90,000/yr + a discretionary bonus.

FLSA: Exempt

The hiring company has a profit sharing plan. A 401k plan without a match is available. Relocation support is negotiable.
