Reports To: Madison Branch Manager

Midland Plastics is looking for an experienced Outside Sales Professional. By utilizing a solutions-based approach you will sell a diverse range of stock plastic sheet, rod and tube as well as custom made parts.

Travels throughout assigned territory to visit prospective customers and maintain existing accounts. Displays product knowledge and uses samples to assist customers in resolving their plastic needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Requires minimum of 3 days out-of-office making a minimum of 20 scheduled "face-to-face" sales calls per week with key decision makers from existing/potential customer base in assigned pocket/territory.
• Works with Branch Manager to develop annual business plan for assigned territory.
• Utilizes reports on market and competitor activity to inform decisions and educate customers.
• Works in a cooperative manner with internal and external customers.
• Keeps abreast of changes and improvements in materials and processes (reading trade publications, attending in-house and supplier training sessions) and improve sales skills (seminars and classes).

Education and/or Experience

Minimum Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. This position is for an applicant possessing 3-4 years experience who is ready for that next step.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Job Types: Full-time, Commission

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
