POSITION PURPOSE
The School of Nursing (SoN) has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Continuing Education Coordinator. As a part of the Continuing Nursing Education team (a self-sustaining unit within the UW School of Nursing), the CE Coordinator will work within a closed-knit team and will be collaborating with various stakeholders inside and outside the School of Nursing.

UWCNE has provided high quality Continuing Nursing Education for nurses for 45 years, enrolling over 1500 health professionals annually in a variety of programs that are current, in-depth, and licensure based. UWCNE is proud to be a provider of Continuing Nursing Education accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission (ANCC).

The CE Coordinator will report to the Director of Continuing Nursing Education. These UWCNE programs are offered across a variety of in-person conferences, hybrid specialty programs and online courses for nurses and other healthcare professionals. The CE Coordinator will collaborate with the Associate Director, and other SoN faculty and staff, to develop and deliver Continuing Education programs for clinical and community agency partners and leaders.

This position requires a commitment to customer service, the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a changing environment, and the skill to work with members of the University community (faculty, staff, and students) who have diverse skills and expertise.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate preparation of Continuing Education Conferences, workshops and training programs (35%)
  • Coordinate plans for registration, meeting and exhibit spaces.
  • Coordinate the onsite operations management for the conferences and workshops.
  • Coordinate forms, payments and related activities.
  • Coordinate conference locations and arrange support services.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts for venues and catering services.

    Assist in the on-site, day-of, administration of conferences, workshops and training programs (20%)
  • Coordinate registration, openings & closings, speaker orientation, catering and support services.
  • Coordinate room assignments and support staff.
  • Coordinate exhibit space, signage, supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate the set-up and breakdown for all live events.

    Manage post conference evaluations and information for planning committee members and speakers (20%)
  • Analyzing feedback and providing recommendations regarding conference design and speaker selection.
  • Generate thank you letters to speakers.
  • Provide feedback from summary evaluation data for speaker rating.
  • Provide summary comments from participants regarding speaker lecture.

    Participate in general CNE operations, special projects, and new initiatives (15%)
  • Coordinate together with the Associate Director, planning committees, speakers, and topics for conferences.
  • Coordinate with SoN Learning Technology to determine and implement support needs.
  • Coordinate changes to the CNE website and other marketing material as it relates to dates, location, community interest and appeal. Coordinates orientation for new employees and volunteers.

    Coordinate the implementation and management of conference sponsorship program (10%)
  • Coordinate and implements sponsorship programs for conferences and workshops.
  • Monitor budgetary concerns for sponsorship program and provide weekly updates to the Director.
  • Recommend sponsorship fees, prepares sponsorship budgets, and monitors revenues collected from sponsors.
  • Maintain records of contracts.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent work experience in a similar role.

    Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One year Coordination Experience in a Continuing Education, healthcare or non-profit setting.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Prior use of Salesforce and WordPress.
  • Being able to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems to deliver online training.
  • Experience in B2B sales and/or developing agency relationships (ideally related to health care)
